🎉 WELCOME RYAN! 😁

We are excited to welcome Ryan Sauer to the Galaxy Center team as one of our new Supervisors here at SAW!

Ryan brings a strong and valuable skill set to his new role, including innovation, problem-solving, process improvement, and document reporting. His ability to look at existing processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop practical solutions will be a great asset to Galaxy Center and the individuals we proudly serve.

As Ryan transitions into his new role, we look forward to the knowledge, ideas, and fresh perspective he will bring to our team. We know that joining a new team comes with a lot to learn, and we encourage everyone to take the time to introduce themselves, offer support, share their knowledge, and help Ryan become familiar with the people, programs, routines, and culture that make Galaxy Center special.

Rocky River AAC headed to the Berea Depot to watch the Norfolk Southern trains go by. We even got a surprise visit from CSX, who stopped by with caps and hats for everyone! 🧢

😁 INTERN HIGHLIGHT 🎉

Ella is a Junior at the University of Tennessee and is majoring in Human Development & Family Science with a minor in Nutrition. She enjoys working with others and appreciates the fact that we all have different abilities and skills. She learned about the Summer Internship opportunity from her mom, Anne, who also works at SAW.

The summer experience at the Galaxy Center location was incredibly positive for her. She enjoyed rotating through all of the different program areas at SAW and developing real friendships with the individuals. One of her favorite activities was participating in an interactive Scavenger Hunt throughout Cleveland, whether visiting the Cleveland sign, Progressive Field, or just singing with everyone on the drive, it was a great day from start to finish!

Brea Campbell is often the first friendly face visitors meet at SAW Inc.’s Galaxy Center. As a part-time Administrative Assistant, she warmly greets visitors, manages sign-ins, and helps ensure everyone is welcomed and directed appropriately.

Brea’s professionalism, attention to detail, and approachable personality help keep the front office running smoothly. Her previous supervisory experience brings valuable leadership, teamwork, and customer service skills, while her flexibility and compassion allow her to support staff, families, volunteers, and the individuals we serve.

Brea’s positive attitude and genuine care for others reflect SAW Inc.’s commitment to inclusion, collaboration, and respect. She is a dependable and valued member of the Galaxy Center team.

Outside of work, Brea enjoys spending time with family and friends, attending social gatherings, playing cards, sharing meals, and making memories filled with laughter.

Choosing a winner was no easy task in last month's photo scavenger hunt! Every team showed incredible creativity, teamwork, and enthusiasm, resulting in a three-way tie!

A huge thank you to Rebecca, Cameron, and Ella from Galaxy Center, and Kathy and Molly from Rocky River AAC for making the adventure so much fun. Special thanks to Rebecca and Molly for their fantastic Canva presentation and creative collage!

Employee Spotlight - Heather Lopez: Rocky River AAC

Heather Lopez is a valued member of the Rocky River AAC team, and we are incredibly grateful for all she does.

Heather supports individuals with both work opportunities and meaningful social activities, always bringing patience, professionalism, compassion, and care to her role. She has built strong relationships with families and guardians, earning their trust through her dedication and commitment.

Whether supporting work placements, leading community outings, or helping wherever needed, Heather is always willing to step up. She also takes pride in creating a warm, welcoming environment where everyone feels valued and included.

Madeline Reinart, affectionately known to us as Maddie, joined the Rocky River Adult Activity Center family in 2024 as an intern while pursuing her college education in Occupational Therapy (OT).

When asked why she chose to intern with us, Maddie shared that she believed working with individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) would provide her with a valuable learning experience and help her grow both personally and professionally. And grow she did!

From the beginning, Maddie quickly became a favorite among both our staff and individuals. She consistently showed compassion, empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to learn. Her time with us also gave her a firsthand look at the important role Occupational Therapy can play in helping individuals with IDD live, learn, grow, and become more independent.

Now, Maddie is off to her next adventure, but we know she has a bright future ahead. She will be moving to Columbus, Ohio, where she’ll begin an exciting new chapter in her life.

We thank Maddie for her hard work, dedication, kindness, and all the wonderful moments she shared with us. She will truly be missed here at Rocky River!

Good luck, Maddie! Columbus is lucky to have you!
