It's that time of year again! The Conewango Creek River Cleanup will take place Sat., Sept. 12! This year we will focus on the Conewango Creek from the Front St. Boat launch to Point Park in Warren, PA.

If you would like to volunteer, you can be on the water using a loaner canoe courtesy of the Chief Cornplanter Council, BSA or bring your own kayak or canoe. If you prefer to stay on land, we do need land-based volunteers to be part of the traveling road show and unload the boats as they come into the pickup spots along the Conewango Creek and put garbage into the trailer.

We are also in need of someone who has a truck or vehicle with a tow hitch and has some experience hauling trailers, who would be willing to volunteer to haul trailers that day.

We would like to send a big Thank You to Snell Landscaping for donating the dumpster this year!

Funding for this year's event, in partnership with the Conewango Creek Watershed Assoc., has been provided by the PA Environmental Council, PA Organization of Watersheds & Rivers, the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and the Foundation for PA Watersheds!

Okay ladies and girls! Registration is officially open for the 2nd Women's Outdoor Workshops lead by Penn Soil RC&D on Sat. Oct. 17th, 2026!!!

Visit our website at www.pennsoil.org to locate the registration forms and information, available in Word and fillable PDF format on our Home Page.

Then visit our Shop page to pay your registration fees quick and easy online. Be sure to select the $40 WOW Base registration fee icon along with any other $5 icons that pertain to a class that has an extra materials fee that you want to take, make sure all that pertain are added to your cart and proceed to the checkout. Then email, mail or drop off your registration forms with your 4-first choice and 4-second choices of classes. A check can also be mailed or dropped off with your registration forms.

We have 17 fabulous workshops for you to choose from, coffee and donuts will be provided during registration in the morning, PLUS lunch will be provided by the Women's Auxiliary of our host for this event...the Tionesta Church of God located at 1582 PA-36, Tionesta, Pa, 16353, 8 am until about 5 pm on Saturday, Oct. 17th, 2026!

Good morning! We have organized an outdoor safety event at the Warren Carpool for Monday, Aug. 3, noon - 4 pm, rain or shine (severe weather date - Fri., Aug 7).

Penn Soil RC&D will present water safety topics and we'll be playing kayak twister!

Conewango Creek Watershed Assoc. will be covering stormwater runoff management, native & invasive species, tick safety and water pollution!

DCNR will talk about wildfire safety AND Smokey Bear will there to greet visitors from 12:30 - 1pm!

And the Cherry Grove Search & Rescue Dog Team will be there with their rescue dogs talking about how they search for missing people, training dogs and hiking safety!!

Penn Soil RC&D has been included in the Crawford Gives fundraising event that will take place on August 19-21, 2026. We are a 501c3 non-profit serving the 8 counties of western PA, will little direct funding to support our two part-time staff and all the programming and projects we support!

Good morning everyone!

This is a friendly reminder of our call out to folks who would be interested in volunteering to teach a workshop at the next Women's Outdoor Workshops (WOW) event in Forest County on Saturday, Oct. 17. This is an all-day event for women and girls 12 years old and up to 99!

If you can only teach part of the day, we can make that work too. General event volunteers are also needed. Email us at [email protected] or call the office at 814-726-1441 or 814-726-7825 with your workshop idea!
