Somerset County has launched "Recycle Coach", a free mobile app that is now available to residents. The app is designed to make recycling and solid waste information easily accessible as well as promote the “go green” goal of reducing, reusing and recycling within the community.

Warren-Watchung Green Teams had yet another very successful 11th Annual Green Fair on September 25th. The event had a remarkable turnout of resident, school members, Fortune 500 companies, local vendors, Committee / Council Officials, environmental stewards and volunteers.

Residents in 570 cars dropped off approximately:

· 1.5 tractor truckloads of electronics to NewTech where they will be crushed, and the remnants will be used for their raw materials.

· 46 large bags of expanded polystyrene were collected and will be taken by Warren Township DPW to Foam Pack Industries for reduction then reuse

· 200 eyeglasses & 25 hearing aids collected by the Warren Lions Club, which will be either reused or sold with the proceeds supporting sight preservation programs.

· 2000 books collected by Trinity United Church

· Unneeded medicines to the Warren Police that will be inactivated in a secure & safe manner.

Many thanks to over 50 members of Warren Township and Watchung Borough’s community service organizations, schools, Fortune 500 Companies, Committee and Council Officials, and professional speakers who offered residents the opportunity to drop off hard-to-recycle items and receive practical tips on protecting the environment at the Green Fair held on September 25, 2021.
