It’s almost time to celebrate all the incredible talent from this year’s contest! Trophies for all events will be awarded during the ceremony.

✨ Important reminders:
• Unclaimed trophies will not be shipped or held.
• If you can’t attend, please assign someone from your studio to pick up your awards.
• They must have your badge — and all students must have theirs to claim awards.

And that’s a wrap on Day 1 of our 49th Annual Great Lakes Regional!

What an incredible start — it feels amazing to be back in person, surrounded by your smiles, your energy, and your absolutely stunning music. And guess what? Day 2 is already in full swing!

Swing by our participation check‑in desk anytime between 8:30 and 5:30 for questions, quick chats, or just to say hi. Today is packed with excitement — Theory Tests, Band Instruments, Violin Concertos, Pop performances of every flavor, and of course, plenty of Classical.

• The 49th Annual Great Lakes Regional Contest is officially underway! We’re excited to welcome you for an unforgettable weekend of music and celebration.
• Registration opens at 3:30 PM — we look forward to seeing you soon!

As we celebrate 125 years of excellence in music education, let’s kick things off with professionalism and respect for all performers.

📵 VIDEOTAPING & RECORDING REMINDERS:
• No audio, video, or photo recording of performers other than your own child
• Recording others requires written consent from a parent/guardian
• ALL recording is strictly prohibited during evaluations
• Evaluations are not performances

• Welcome to Day 1 of the 49th Annual Great Lakes Regional Contest! We’re so excited to kick off an incredible weekend of performances and can’t wait to see you soon.
• Registration opens at 3:30 PM — be ready to check in and start your competition journey!

As we celebrate 125 years of excellence in music education, get ready for a weekend full of talent, passion, and unforgettable moments.

✨ DRESS CODE REMINDERS:
• Proper performance attire is REQUIRED
• No casual wear: t-shirts, tank tops, shorts, jeans
• No flip-flops, sneakers, or hats
• No ripped clothing or anything with offensive language
• Costumes are allowed if they enhance the performance theme
• Judges may require performers to change attire before performing
• Unacceptable attire = cannot compete (may perform for feedback only)

Parking Options!

Self Park (Recommended): $10
Park in Long Term Garage, take a ticket (do not insert payment), and purchase a validation sticker in the Lindbergh Ballroom Foyer. (1 per exit) You can purchase mutiple validation stickers at once, however no refunds will be given for purchased stickers.

Valet (Day Only): $15
Pull up to hotel entrance, mention AGM event, pay at departure. Recommended for those just needing to park for the day or a portion of the day. You will be paying valet at the cashier desk upon departure.

Valet (Overnight Guests): $20/night
Charge added to room—give your name to valet upon arrival. For those who have booked an overnight guest room via the group block, a discounted $20 rate per night will be applied to your guest room. Please pull up to the hotel front entrance and let the Valet attendant know you are an overnight guest and provide your name.

We’re getting ready to kick things off Friday, April 17 through Sunday, April 19 , and we can’t wait to see everyone!

We’ll be sharing helpful announcements each day this week to make sure you’re fully prepared, so stay tuned 👀

🔔 First-time competitors:
If this is your first time competing at an AGM competiton, we ask that you bring identification for the student competing (passport or birth certificate). We do this to confirm students are in fact placed in the correct age categories and avoid entry errors when entering new students into the AGM database.

Music selections are rolling in and preparations are underway. The entry deadline has been extended to February 28, giving students a little extra time to finalize their programs.

While you focus on perfecting your performance, we’re working behind the scenes to prepare the competition schedule — coming before the end of March.
