REMINDER: The Warren Day Parade is tomorrow morning at 10:30. I would love for as many kiddos and coaches that want to march, to arrive from 9:30 / 10ish and there should be plenty of room for parking in the lot behind the fire station and we gather at the end of the dirt drive right beside the fire station. If you can march great! Please wear your uniform! I hope to see as many of you there!..John

WARREN BASEBALL, SOFTBALL and T-BALL: I wanted to let you know where we are at and what's up next for the end of this season. Girl's Little League Play-offs begin tomorrow and Boy's Little League Baseball have their last regular season games(to my knowledge...not sure about any make-ups). Boy's Upper and Lower Minors Baseball and Minor League Softball go on for another week or two and I will have season ending awards and refreshments as they get to the end of their games. T-BALL: T-Ball wraps up tomorrow and I will look to have awards and donuts for them at the end of the first game/start of the second game. I'll ask coaches to leave their equipment there for me to pick up after the first of my own two games that day. I still have a chunk of parents that need to pay for registration and I will be available. I didn't intend to coach two squads, so my attendance at those games and practices has been spotty at best. It's been a great season though and thanks to all the coaches that helped make it happen from each town. You can't pay if I'm not there, so tomorrow I will be to wrap things up! The weather looks like it will hold until the afternoon, so hopefully we get the full schedule in! Good luck to all of our Little League squads here at the end of the season and I will continue to see some of you at games and practices of the 11/12 Girl's All-Star Softball squad. That will all begin soon, probably next week! Thanks and see you all tomorrow!! John

REMINDER: The Medomak Valley Coaches / Safety meeting is this afternoon at 5:00 at the Waldoboro Town office. One coach for each team is supposed to attend. I still have no manager or assistants for our first Upper Minor squad(Cobras). I have Brooke Creamer for the other Upper Minor squad(Bananas), but don't have set assistant coaches to help/coach with her(although I have several moms that said they would help in assistant roles). I believe we are set for our Lower Minor Baseball team and our two Minor Softball teams. I believe we will have at least four T-ball teams and have coaches for two, possibly three. If you can help out with T-ball we NEED you. We ESPECIALLY need the Upper Minor Manager and coaches. I don't want to make one team of 17 boys, but that is where we would be. I guess we could sub an entire team each inning LOL. I continually pester the same folks and can only spread them so thin, so now it's YOUR chance to jump in and help! Your going to be there anyway, so if you have played and/or have experience with Softball or Baseball, why not coach? You won't "stunt" their development. I will take a look at the first rough draft of the Major and Minor schedules when they come out, to see if I would have any time to help with a Minor squad (on top of coaching with a Little League team and all the rest I need to get done each week). I hope to see coaches from the teams that are all set at 5:00! I will be there myself...Thanks everyone and see you there!....John

T-BALL and MINOR UPDATE!! Let's get going with our youngest group and have sign-ups for T-Ball on APRIL 7th from 5:00 to 6:30. I'll be in the hall between the gym and Cafeteria OR in the gazebo if the weather is good and A.C.E isn't using it. It will be at the back of Warren Community School as always. I will have my cleat bin with me and my glove bin as well. If your signed up for a higher level and are struggling to find cleats, I may have some that are a larger size, so you can reach out. If you have baseball/softball cleats that are collecting dust, drop them off and I'll get them to a kid that needs them(this is all free of course). I will need coaches, so please keep that in mind!!!! As far as the Upper levels, I have a list of folks that have put in to be volunteers to coach teams and that's great! You will still need to take the two online courses on the Little League site to qualify to coach and the Safety meeting for all levels of minors / majors is April 12th at the Waldoboro Town Office at 5:00. All coaches need to be there ( but not my T-ball coaches ). I will be reaching out to all of you soon(probably today or this weekend). Numbers wise right now, I'm at one Upper Minor Baseball, one Lower Minor Baseball and two Minor Softball teams. We "graduated" a big chunk of Warren boys and girls and I'm super happy for them to play Little League! I myself will be jumping to the Warriors Little League Softball squad from the Tigers and 5 years of coaching Little league Baseball. I'm ready for the challenge and have coached softball for many years in the past!!! Thank you all and we will get out there soon. John...Warren Recreation

REMINDER: The first try-out for Little League Softball is tonight at Medomak Valley High School from 6:00 to 7:30. This will be for girls that aren't already on a Little League roster from last year. Sneakers only in the gym and it goes without saying that girls should wear something they can move around in comfortably and don't forget your glove! sweat / wind pants...little cold for shorts, but I doubt there will be any sliding drills, so that's up to you. Jeans / pants aren't recommended, unless that is all you have. Have fun and just do your best...no stress ladies! Hint for girls and boys: Evaluators are looking for maturity, coachability and attention span as well, so if you can't pay attention during the drills, there is a good chance you won't during practices and games and that can lead to injury! Thanks and good luck!!!...John...Warren Rec.

Reminder: Registration for all levels of Medomak Little League Baseball and Softball close tomorrow!!! So that's Upper and Lower Minor Baseball and Minor Softball, along with returning Little League players from last year and kiddos that are old enough and want to try-out to make a squad. Athletes that don't make a Little League squad through try-outs will be automatically given back to their home town for placement on Upper Minor Baseball or Minor Softball. There is a link right on the Medomak Little League page that you can get on and get your kiddo all signed up! You would also sign-up for T-ball as well online if your child isn't from Warren! I hold a separate sign-up for Warren T-ball, but if you already put your child in online for Warren T-ball, it's no problem and they will get split off with the other Warren kids when we come together and grab kiddos from each town at all the levels. I know the season seems distant at the moment, but Little League International has it's deadlines and we need to get those squads up and running first( even though most squads won't get going until Late April / early May). If you want to coach, there are things you need to do online as well! Please get your kiddos signed-up and we can get an idea at least, of all the coaches and teams needed for each town. Kids from other towns that don't have enough numbers for a certain level are given the opportunity to jump on squads in towns that do. The Little League try-out dates, times and location are also on the Medomak page as well. I think I covered most of it!...Thanks and let's goooooooo!...John...Warren Rec

Reminder: Because of the weather and early release, we won't be having our cheer showcase tonight as planned. We will go next week on Wednesday, March 4th at the same time / place. It isn't ideal, but I would rather folks get home and keep kiddos off the roads and safe. I believe that announcements of the cancelation have been shared with all of the team pages, but some folks might not be on them. Thanks all and with the Bangor meet on Sunday, hopefully we will have several banners to show off at the showcase. Feel free to share...THANKS EVERYONE!...John

UPDATE: I WON'T be doing a third night of sign-ups for Pre-K / K and 1st / 2nd teams tonight as planned. It doesn't mean your child can't play, it just means that I'm not sure of turn-out numbers and have already spoken to and gotten information from the 4 or 5 kiddos that I knew of, that would have tried to make it tonight. If you have a child that wants to play,...text me, message me here or call and I will get them down on the list. For those who haven't filled out paperwork, I will have forms for you to fill out at their first practices and you can pay the fee then. For you that need to sign-up and have already filled out a form from soccer season, reach out and I can use that form and you can get me the fee at those first practices. I have a decent number of kiddos and would be looking at three 1st / 2nd teams and two Pre-K / K teams. I don't want more then 10 on my squads so everyone plays and I would rather go with teams of 7-9 if I can find the coaches I need. It's tough going with a squad over 10, as far as playing time. It looks like Union and Washington have had great turn-outs and we may need to go with four or five games each Saturday to get every one in. It's a great problem to have!!! Please reach out A.S.A.P to get your kiddo on a squad. I'm not going to speak for other towns, but they need you to get your info in to them as well!...Thanks everyone and I will be reaching out to possible coaches for Warren squads, splitting teams and going over practice slots available in Warren. You should get calls in the next week or so from coaches and I'm excited to get that season up and going...THANK YOU ALL FOR WHAT YOU DO FOR KIDS IN YOUR COMMUNITY. That can't be stated enough! Did I mention I need coaches?? See you on the court!!...John...Warren Recreation
