๐พ GREAT NEWS โ RETIRED K-9 KANTOR REMAINS CANCER FREE! ๐พ
We wanted to share a long-overdue update on one of Warrenโs finest four-legged officers, retired K-9 Kantor.
Many will remember that shortly after retiring from the Warren Police Department in June 2024, Kantor was diagnosed with lymphoma. After an incredible career that included hundreds of deployments, locating dangerous narcotics, and helping locate nearly 100 people, Kantor suddenly faced a fight of his own.
With the support of his longtime partner, Officer Hofer, his family, the outstanding team at MSU Veterinary Medical Center, and so many members of our community who supported Kantor along the way, he underwent treatment and fought cancer head-on.
Weโre very happy to report that at Kantorโs most recent checkup at MSU on July 27, 2026, his physical examination confirmed that he remains in remission! ๐๐พ
Kantor has been enjoying the retired life with the Hofer family and will soon celebrate his 10th birthday! ๐
From serving and protecting the Warren community to beating cancer, Kantor continues to show the same strength and determination that made him such an incredible police K-9. Thank you to all who have supported Kantorโs Fight!
Happy retirement, Kantor โ and hereโs to many more healthy birthdays ahead! ๐โ๐ฆบ๐
The Warren Police & Fire Benevolent Association (WPFBA) continues to proudly support Kantor by covering his ongoing medical bills in retirement.
