The Young Workers Conference 2026 is coming up, and the Local 51 Education Committee is encouraging our members to register and take advantage of this incredible opportunity to learn, grow, and build leadership skills for the future of our union movement.

We’re especially proud that one of our very own Crystal Scott serves as the Junior Conference Coordinator for this year’s conference! 👏🏽🔥

This year’s theme is “Empower & Lead: Now, Tomorrow, & Beyond” and workshops will include topics such as Finance 101, Labor Law & Organizing, Grievance Handling, and more.

Calling all talented artists in our union family! 🎨✊🏽

If you have a passion for art and the labor movement, this is an amazing opportunity to showcase your creativity and your voice. We encourage our members to apply for the Union Hall Arts Residency and represent the power of working people through art!

Are you a UAW member who loves to express themselves through art?

Are you looking for a way to connect your passion for the labor movement with your love of art?

The Union Hall Arts Residency is what you need!

4-6 union members while be chosen to form a cohort and attend a 4-week residency program in Detroit, MI where they will be partnered with mentors to expand their skills, explore various mediums, and gain exposure to historical approaches, contemporary strategies and novel ideas informed by the values and history of the labor movement.

Selected candidates are eligible to receive a travel and lodging sponsorship from the UAW to attend the residency. Applicants must be able to take a union leave of absence from their workplace, and attend the entire 4-week residency program, August 10- September 7, 2026. Additional rules and eligibility information can be found in the call letter, brochure, and website links below.

Now let’s get ready to ride! 🏍️🔥 One week from today, the UAW Local 51 Education Committee is proud to cohost our Blessing of the Bikes event alongside the Chaplaincy and Recreation Committees!

Join us Sunday, May 17th for a blessing, fellowship, refreshments, and an exciting group ride as we kick off the riding season together. Please make sure to register so we can have an accurate headcount for refreshments and lineup purposes.
