Recently stopped and looked at a field windbreak that was planted in Alma Township in the spring of 2025 by the Marshall SWCD. A row of redosier dogwoods were planted on the North side of the 1 gallon potted Black Hills Spruce. Trees are doing very well and the contract holder is doing a great job of maintaining the site free of weeds. This was a 75% cost share assistance project from the Marshall SWCD with the contract holder supplying 25%.

On this chilly and windy day, the Marshall Soil and Water Conservstion District (SWCD) received their potted evergreens today. Some will be handed out by the end of the week to area landowners while others will be planted by the Marshall SWCD within the next few weeks.
