The idea behind $5 Fridays is to encourage community members to donate $5 a week (or any amount you are able!) to help their neighbors who may be in a tight spot. If we all pitch in together meaningful change is possible. Someone who donates a few dollars this month may need our support the next month. Mutual aid is the horizontal movement of resources through a community, it is not a charity, any

one who needs help is encouraged to reach out and submit a brief explanation of their needs in order to be considered for the following months donations.

Of course donors are an important part of this project. Without those of you who are able to contribute a little bit here and there to help a neighbor in need we would not be able to continue our work here. However, our recipients are also an integral part of this project! Without our recipients we would be useless. It's hard to ask for help, culturally we've been taught to see this as a weakness, as failure. Being willing to ask for help where you need it is such an incredible strength and is ultimately the backbone of what we are trying to accomplish here. Please reach out if you are in need of a helping hand.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to our September collection! We were able to collect a total of $80 for our September recipient, which I am immensely proud of for our first month of collection. Our community came together to help out a neighbor in need, some of you had a couple dollars to spare, others were able to contribute a bit more, but every one of us made a difference by coming together for a common goal.
Thank you all for your support both in donations and in sharing the Warren County Mutual Aid Project with your friends and family. We hope to do more outreach in the coming months and to build an even bigger community to continue helping our neighbors.

I'm so proud of the response we have gotten from community members and how quickly this page is growing.
It is nearly September already, which I hope to be our first official collection month. However, I have yet to find a recipient for September!
Please don't be shy. If you or someone you know could use a little help this month please send me a message with a brief description of the situation and any details you'd like to include.
No identifying info will be shared, only what you consent to, and all donations collected this until September 30th will be yours.

Welcome to The Warren County Mutual Aid Project! I hope to one day expand this into even more ways for our community members to look after one another, but this seems like a great place to start!
My intention is to find our first recipient and start officially collecting donations for the month of September, but our Go Fund Me page is up and running already if you'd like to pitch in in advance. All donations will go directly to our recipients.

Please like, share, and interact with this page to help build our following and encourage your friends and loved ones in Warren County to help one another, and to ask for help when they need it!

If you have any questions or would like to be considered as a recipient for September please reach out!

If you're interested in starting your own mutual aid project in your area (or would be interested in helping me split Warren County into smaller segments for more localized support) please contact me and I'd be happy to help you get your community organized!
