We address this exact concern at the Brookfield SCOPE Center with Grief and Loss In Motion’s newest initiative, Blue Jacket Corp, led by Navy Veteran William Major Jr. Our 9 am Thursday morning program , Veteran Voices, invites any service member in to share some stories, concerns, or a cup of coffee. Peer support can be provided as needed and grief support is always available. Join us!

Vilomah is a word used to describe a parent who has lost a child. The word is beautiful but it has such a heartbreaking meaning. There has always been a specific word for a person who loses a spouse, (Widow or Widower), a child that loses both parents is an Orphan but there has never been a special word for grieving mothers and fathers who have lost a child.
Many parents find comfort in this word because it has meaning to their profound grief of their child.
