Ed Trust did a little straight wiring job for a fellow member, installing a sound decoder in his N scale locomotive. The last time I tried that everything went up in a little puff of smoke. Ed sent in a couple of videos as proof it actually works! Soldering on a small N scale decoder, think small computer, can be tough on the nerves... :)

On April 1st 2023 I did a spoof magazine 'cover' and inner page using a photo taken of some of our group at lunch one day. All of it is an April Fools joke but the turnout control, made from an old hacksaw blade, actually worked good IF your turnouts were like my Peco brand that had the little 'k**b' sticking up. No, I didn't sell a one... :)

Yesterday Chris and Carol put the scenery back on the layout (Thomas' Island of Sodor) after testing track electricity to ensure everything still fit after the ballast was laid. Some touchup work still needs to be done along with more landscaping. Hope everyone is enjoying the progress as much as we are!

Dave Lambert brought this nice structure in at lunch today. He says it is a good example of a kit that is very low priced and easy to assemble turns out well when painted well and weathered. He added several elements from his supply such as grass, weeds, figures etc.
