Houston County Volunteer Medical Clinic The Volunteer Medical Clinic provides general healthcare to the working, uninsured residents of Houston County that are within 200% of the poverty line.

Although the Volunteer Medical Clinic of Houston County is not affiliated with any specific faith or religion, the motivation of many of our volunteers is faith-based. The Houston County Volunteer Medical Clinic coordinates medical care through the volunteerism of local physicians, nurses, technicians and clerical personnel. Currently there are thirteen physicians that donate their time and expertise to treat patients at the Volunteer Medical Clinic. Most are still practicing medicine while two of our physicians are retired. We are always looking for additional volunteers to help with office work as well as medical professionals. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the clinic during business hours.

🎀 **3 Breast Cancer Screening Myths — BUSTED!** 💗

Did you know that cost and lack of health insurance shouldn't automatically stop you from getting a mammogram?

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, let's separate myths from facts! 👇

❌ Myth #1: Mammograms are too expensive.
✅ Fact: Free or low-cost screening programs are available for eligible individuals.

❌ Myth #2: I don't have health insurance, so I can't get screened.
✅ Fact: Community health programs and clinics may help connect uninsured patients with affordable screening options.

❌ Myth #3: I don't have a family history or symptoms, so I don't need screening.
✅ Fact: Many women diagnosed with breast cancer have no family history. Regular screening can help detect cancer before symptoms appear.

💗 **Early detection can save lives!**

At Houston County Volunteer Medical Clinic, we believe everyone deserves access to compassionate healthcare. We can help eligible patients explore available screening resources.

🍔 You keep our community fed. Who's keeping you healthy?

Working long shifts on your feet, rushing through the lunch crowd, and showing up for everyone else is hard work. If your job doesn't offer health insurance, you shouldn't have to put your own health on hold.

The Houston County Volunteer Medical Clinic provides care to working neighbors who need it. 💙

You work hard for this community. Let us help take care of you.

🩺 A healthy community starts with access to care.

When our neighbors can see a doctor, manage their health, and get the support they need, everyone benefits: families stay strong, kids stay in school, and workers stay on the job.

At the Houston County Volunteer Medical Clinic, caring volunteers give their time and talent so that no one in our community has to choose between their health and their everyday needs. 💙

A healthy community isn't built by one person. It's built by all of us, one neighbor at a time.

High blood pressure doesn’t always come with warning signs — but small, consistent changes can make a real difference. ❤️

Taking care of your heart doesn’t have to be expensive. Simple habits can help support healthy blood pressure:

🥗 Choose more fruits, vegetables, and whole foods
🚶 Stay active — even a daily walk counts
🧂 Cut back on salt and highly processed foods
⚖️ Work toward maintaining a healthy weight
🧘 Find healthy ways to manage stress

And remember: healthy habits are important, but they don’t replace prescribed medication or regular blood pressure monitoring.

At Houston County Volunteer Medical Clinic, we’re here to help eligible working uninsured adults access the care they need.

What does “working uninsured” really mean?

It means having a job, working hard, and contributing to our community — but still not having health insurance.

For many of our neighbors, the cost of healthcare can mean choosing between seeing a doctor and paying for everyday necessities.

That’s where Houston County Volunteer Medical Clinic comes in. 💙

HCVMC provides quality healthcare to eligible working uninsured adults in our community, made possible through volunteers, donations, and community support.

Working shouldn’t mean going without healthcare.

At HCVMC, generosity keeps the doors open. ❤️

From medical supplies and equipment to volunteer time and financial support, nearly everything that makes our clinic possible comes from people and organizations who believe everyone deserves access to healthcare.

Behind every patient we serve is a community that chose to give.

Your donation doesn’t simply support a clinic — it helps provide healthcare to uninsured members of our community who might otherwise go without.
