Get ready to see our friends from Community and Economic Development again this July! Thank you City of Warner Robins Government for sponsoring our Back to School Bash 2026.

The City of Warner Robins and the Economic Development Department are proud to once again sponsor the 2026 Back to School Bash hosted by Houston County Family Connection.

Each July, this event brings our community together to support students and families as they prepare for the upcoming school year. We are honored to continue supporting this important effort and look forward to another successful Back to School Bash this summer.

The Houston County School Nutrition Program will continue operations this summer, offering meals free of charge to children ages 18 and under. Children do not need to be enrolled in the Houston County School District to receive meals.

There will be three ways for families to participate in the Summer Meals Program. Daily walk-in meal service will be provided at two school locations, vans will serve meals in eligible neighborhoods, and three sites will offer a weekly meal pack pick up service.

Registration is open for our 3rd READ WITH ME cohort!

On 11 June, we will host a ONE-DAY version of the workshops on Scarborough's Reading Rope: 9am-12pm.

While adults are learning with Houston County School Districtstaff, children will join Houston County Family Connection and our Partners in THREE Reading Circles, complete with thematic crafts and fun!

Lunch will be provided, and Ms Lori is returning with her Book Fair from Reading On My Mind Inc.!

Attention rising 9th–12th grade students!

There are several exciting Summer 2026 STEM opportunities being offered through the GEAR Lab at the Museum of Aviation Robins AFB, Warner Robins, GA!

There hands-on camps and workshops in artificial intelligence, robotics, immersive media, photogrammetry, mechatronics, and aerospace systems. These programs are designed for students interested in engineering, technology, gaming, AI, robotics, and future workforce pathways.

These courses include partnerships with Middle Georgia State University, SCAD, Central Georgia Technical College, Bibb County School District, GA Tech, and Houston County School District, giving students the opportunity to learn directly from college instructors, educators, industry professionals, and experts actively working in these fields. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to get ahead, explore emerging technologies, and gain exposure to real-world career pathways.

All courses are hosted in the GEAR Lab at the Museum of Aviation in Warner Robins, GA.

Adequate sleep is vital for memory consolidation and cognitive functions, including decision-making, conflict resolution, and attention.

Lack of sleep leads to irritability, mood swings, and emotional instability. It can cause children to be hyperactive or aggressive, often mistaken for ADHD.

Deep sleep triggers the release of growth hormones, while lack of sleep weakens the immune system's ability to fight illnesses and increases the risk of obesity, diabetes, and high blood pressure.

Insufficient sleep is associated with increased anxiety and depression in children.

So, we can agree that adequate, restful sleep is important, right? And yet, we have children in our community who do not have a safe, strong bed to sleep in at night. Over 1,000 children have already been identified as needing reliable beds.
