From the early shoots of skunk cabbage in April to the full, lush greens of late May, Patterson Brook at Follo-Beecher Forest has been quietly keeping track of the season while the rest of us were busy.

A foraging squirrel, a pair of passing turkeys, and a young deer finding its footing all pay a visit while the brook just keeps moving. Nature does not rush the season, it simply shows up for each moment as it comes.

This Monday, take a look around you. What changes have you noticed this spring?

Take a mindful moment this Monday to appreciate the quiet pond's edge at Great Neck Wildlife Sanctuary, just like this couple of Canada Geese.

There is something about finding that one spot where the world feels a little quieter, a little slower, and a little more yours. For these two, it is right here at the water's edge.

Where do you like to spend your quiet time?
