📢 CFSI National Advisory Committee Passes Two New Resolutions

CFSI’s National Advisory Committee met on October 13 and passed two new resolutions focused on advancing traffic incident management initiatives and the Public Safety Officers’ Benefits (PSOB) Program.

These resolutions reflect CFSI’s continued commitment to supporting the fire and emergency services community, promoting responder safety, and advocating for the resources and benefits our nation’s first responders deserve.

Dr. Nicole L. Sawyer is coming to Plymouth with a free presentation, How Full Is Your Bucket: Burnout and Career Survival for First Responders! This is an honest, and sometimes harsh, discussion about the physiological and psychological impacts of a long-term public safety career. Dive into the chemistry of stress and trauma, the bad habits that come from trying to cope, the impacts on the emotional self and family life, eating habits, drinking habits, poor sleep, and personal accountability for all of the above.

This program is not about solutions; it's about ownership and accountability for your well-being and communication and truth for loved ones. RSVP is required!

On October 1, NERIS v1.5 was released. It is the first significant schema revision since NERIS launched.

Version 1.5 is fully additive: no fields have been removed, the API structure remains unchanged, and existing RMS integrations, dashboards, and reports will continue to work. New fields are available for agencies that choose to use them, but they are not required.

Updates include more specific incident classifications, including:
• Agricultural vehicle fires distinct from passenger vehicle fires
• Water rescues categorized as ice, flood, or surf incidents
• Micromobility and human-powered vehicle collisions distinguished from general motor vehicle incidents
