The Ware Family Center is a one of a kind resource for families with children ages 0-5 in Ware and the surrounding towns. During playgroup hours parents and children engage in craft projects, block play, reading books, dressing up and eating a snack. Babies can crawl, roll, and play in our safe, gated infant area. Babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers have the chance to perfect fine and gross motor s
kills, learn expressive and receptive language, explore early math concepts and build social-emotional competence. Children practice sharing, discover the magic of books, and learn behavioral limits. All of these experiences help prepare them for their next step in life, kindergarten. The Ware Family Center not only benefits the children we serve, but also their parents and caregivers. Parenting young children is a huge job, one that can be over whelming in isolation. Our parents and caregivers come together to share advice and to seek help from our coordinator, program assistant and visiting early childhood specialists. The Family Center helps our families find resources to make it through trying times-bringing home a new baby, identifying high quality child care and pre-schools, managing unexpected financial hardships, and other problems that affect them at home. Please join us for playgroup Wednesday and Thursday mornings 10:30-11:30am . If this is a hardship for you please do not be discouraged. You can volunteer your time to help. We follow the Ware Public School calendar, when school is closed we are also closed.
