Join us at Noon on August 15 for free music and free books for kids! You’ll be able to sing along and play along since Tony M. brings plenty of instruments to share. We’ll view highlights from Rural Assembly Everywhere’s broadcast–then discuss how stories connect us to each other and to our rural communities. In addition to free beverages and sweet treats, you’ll receive a free copy of Every Peach Is a Story, a heartwarming picture book for all ages co-authored by fourth-generation farmer Nikiko Masumoto, one of the featured guests on the Everywhere broadcast. The America 250 celebration continues! We traveled to Keyser yesterday with WordPlay Connects’ Help Yourself to History display and met lots of enthusiastic young readers at the Mineral County Child & Family Expo. More than 150 free books went home with some very happy kiddos! Special thanks to the WV Semiquincentennial Commission for their support of this project.

We love delivering PreK Power Packs! This batch of book-filled bags went to East Hardy Elementary. Incoming PreK’ers will be able to “power up” their reading–and it’s all free, thanks to generous book donations from Sourcebooks and Hachette Book Group 📖‘s new Raising Readers campaign. Huge news, friends! To celebrate America’s 250th, WordPlay Connects has received a very generous grant to sponsor a bus trip for 50 people to tour two Smithsonian museums in DC–and it’s all free!!
