Father John O'Shea, 96, a senior priest of the Diocese of Yakima, died peacefully at 10:45 p.m. last night. He had recently been treated for pneumonia. We are very grateful for the accompaniment he received from parishioners, deacons and priests in recent days as he spiritually prepared for death. "When will I have it all?" he asked a recent visitor. He knew the answer, of course. "Whether we live or we die, we are the Lord's" (Romans 14:8).
An obituary and funeral arrangements will be announced next week. As we pray for the repose of his soul, let's also pray for all our dying and deceased friends, family, loved ones, parishioners and clients. 🙏
