Wisdom, the incredible 74-year-old Laysan albatross from Midway Atoll, continues to amaze the world by still laying eggs! Observing Wisdom during my time on Midway Atoll remains one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life. This visit was inspired by meeting Chandler Robbins, the ornithologist who banded Wisdom as a fledgling 74 years ago.
Midway Atoll, located at the northern tip of the Hawaiian Archipelago, left a lasting impression not only because of Wisdom but also due to the heartbreaking sight of plastic debris brought ashore by the Japanese Current.
