THANK YOU, BLOOD DONORS!

A huge thank you to everyone who donated blood at our blood drive this past Friday! Because of your generosity, the American Red Cross collected 27 pints of blood — enough to potentially help save up to 81 lives!

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who took the time to roll up their sleeves and make a difference in our community. Every donation matters!

Our Back-to-School Supply Drive has officially hit an ALL-TIME RECORD, with more than 2,000 school supply items collected — and we’re not done yet as we are working on a few more partnerships.

Today, Rotarians came together to sort through more than 2,000 school supply items that were collected!

These supplies will be distributed to students at Sheafe, Evans, and Myers Corners Elementary Schools to help local students start the school year ready to learn.

We were also thrilled to welcome Project Backpack as our guest speaker! With the incredible amount of supplies donated, along with four fully packed backpacks, we were able to make an additional donation to Project Backpack. Those supplies will be distributed to other elementary schools throughout the Wappingers Central School District!

This is what Rotary is all about — neighbors helping neighbors and making a difference in the lives of local students.

We are especially grateful to all of the businesses/organizations that served as drop-off locations - Town of Wappinger, Grinnell Library, ReStore of Habitat Dutchess, NBT Bank Poughkeepsie and Trustco Bank Fishkill. Your support made it easy for our community to give, and we truly appreciate your partnership.

A Special Rotary Connection 🇧🇷🤝🇺🇸

Yesterday’s lunch meeting featured a truly unique guest speaker and a wonderful Rotary connection!

We had the pleasure of welcoming Andrea Mendes Barros Rodrigues and her husband, Paulo Jose de Faria Tavares Rodrigues, visiting from Rotary in Brazil. 🇧🇷

Andrea has a special connection to our club dating back to 1977, when she came to the United States as a Rotary Youth Exchange student. During her exchange, she stayed with our now Honorary Member, Priscilla and Rudy.

Nearly 50 years later, it was wonderful to reconnect, share stories, and celebrate the lifelong friendships and connections that Rotary creates around the world.

This is what Rotary is all about—Service Above Self, lifelong friendships, and connections that truly last a lifetime.

The Rotary Club of Wappingers Falls is proud to host our Back-to-School Supply Drive from July 16 – August 14!

We’re collecting new school supplies that will be donated directly to students in the Wappingers Central School District, helping ensure they have the tools they need for a successful school year.

Items needed include:
Pencils, Pens, Notebooks, Loose Leaf Paper, Crayons, Markers, Highlighters, Glue, Tape, Folders, Binders
…and more!
