The New York State Outdoor Education Association’s PATHWAYS is looking for submissions for the Fall issue!

PATHWAYS is NYSOEA’s quarterly publication, sharing ideas, stories, news, and perspectives related to environmental education, outdoor learning, and the natural history of New York. It has long been a way for NYSOEA members, affiliates, and the broader outdoor education community, to share their experiences and ideas. PATHWAYS is published online and distributed to the broader NYSOEA member and affiliate network.

We invite outdoor educators, students, environmental enthusiasts, teachers, and others who care about the outdoors to contribute articles, essays, poetry, artwork, photos, and more.

🌲THANK YOU, SUNY Plattsburgh and partners! The Northern Region recently brought together environmental educators and K–12 teachers for a day of professional development at SUNY Plattsburgh, hosted by Lake Champlain Sea Grant, the Lake Champlain Research Institute, and NYSOEA.

🐞More than two dozen educators from area school districts, along with NYSOEA Northern Region members and affiliates, gathered to explore the Project WILD & Aquatic WILD curriculum guides and discover lessons they can bring back to their classrooms, trails, and nature centers.

🎤The day also featured guest speakers sharing resources and perspectives on career literacy, workforce connections, and outdoor education opportunities throughout the region.

⭐️A special thank you to SUNY Plattsburgh, University of Vermont Extension, the Wild Center, Adirondack Watershed Institute, and Adirondack Mountain Club for contributing to the day. We also appreciate the NYSDEC for providing Project WILD & Aquatic WILD guides for participants.
