A simple coat of paint can spark big ideas. 🎨🚶‍♀️🚗

Thanks to a grant from Keep Iowa Beautiful, designs from Flenker Land Architecture Consultants, LLC with the Iowa's Living Roadways Community Visioning Program, and Iowa State University Extension Community and Economic Development, the City of Columbus Junction, Iowa recently completed a pilot traffic-calming project downtown. The temporary pavement markings allow the community to test a potential design, improve pedestrian visibility, and evaluate the feasibility of a future permanent project.

🌽🚜 Twenty-nine educators from Iowa and Missouri recently explored agriculture across southeast Iowa through a two-day professional development workshop hosted by the Iowa Agriculture Literacy Foundation, Jefferson County Farm Bureau and Jefferson County Extension & Outreach. Participants toured local farms and agribusinesses while gaining resources and ideas to bring agricultural literacy into their classrooms.
