Altera's professional development expands the capacity of our team to approach challenges with new skills. Tiffany's UDL final project was developing a UDL Action Plan for clarifying goals and objectives in the Treasure Box curriculum.

Richland Early Learning Center welcomed Altera Early Learning Coordinator Fatima Traore and Associate Director of Programming Tiffany Coulson to their family resource fair. Altera brought 3 math games to teach parents how to use everyday items found in the home to prepare their preschool children for kindergarten.

Associate Director of Programming, Tiffany Coulson was accepted as a remote presenter at the Connected Learning Summit. It is an international conference highlighting the use of technology in education for innovative, playful, creative learning. The presentation is on home based early learning "A Teacher in Every Home: AI Avatar Partners for Early Learning Access, Empowerment and Identity".

Treasure Box outreach with the wonderful families at Westgate Elementary. We had a line of people waiting to play games with us. We interacted with 150 people in about 90 minutes. SO much fun and lots of good contacts with parents who want resources to teach their preschool children at home!

My colleague Fatima Traore and I, representing Altera, were awarded $4000 for our presentation called, "The Best of Both Worlds" about using AI to design preschool instruction for at-home learning. Thank you to NCW Tech Alliance for the opportunity, to Microsoft for sponsoring the showcase and to the 250 audience members who attended the AI Expo in Wenatchee and those that voted for us. What a fun experience. The $4000 will be used to fund preschool materials for needy families in both eastern Washington and in Mali. , , ,
