To the families of Summer Rec. campers-
We at the Wantagh Foundation did a walk through of Wantagh Elementary School this morning along with the Superintendent of schools. He showed us the water damage and according to him, we will be unable to hold camp again on Tuesday, July 23rd. He, along with the rest of us, are frustrated by this sudden damage to the building through a burst pipe over the weekend. He expects that we will be able to hold camp again on Wednesday, July 24th at the normal time. Thank you all for your continued patience as we get things cleaned up to allow for a safe and fun environment for your children.
Additionally, we have had a few questions about make up days for camp. We at the Wantagh Foundation discussed the possibilities, and we are unable to offer make up days for camp, seeing as we do not have the staff availability for any other days except for what has been scheduled. However, we have lots of fun things planned for the last week and a half of Camp- more waterslides, sprinklers, tye-dye, arts and crafts, and a visit from the Kona ice truck, along with class parties. We are eager to get back to camp to allow your children a fun rest of their month of July. As always, if there are any questions or comments, please direct them by email to us. We hope to see you all on Wednesday!
