Steam Locomotive Tracking - Follow Union Pacific’s Big Boy No. 4014 on Tour

Union Pacific Big Boy No. 4014 Steam Locomotive is rolling through Lawrence County on its way to Struthers, OH on July 12th. It’s the heaviest reciprocating steam locomotive ever built and represents the absolute pinnacle of American steam engineering. Originally commissioned by the Union Pacific Railroad during World War II to conquer steep mountain passes, it remains a legendary icon of transportation history. 🇺🇸

On Sunday, July 12th No. 4014 will depart Conway, PA at 9:00am and arrive in Struthers, OH at 11:30am. You’ll have optimal viewing opportunities between those times. We highly recommend following the map for timing.

🚦Safety First:
-Stay back at least 25 feet from all railroad tracks. This includes drones.
-Railroad tracks, trestles, yards and right of way are private property - do not trespass.
- Never assume tracks are abandoned or inactive - ALWAYS expect a train.
- Be a safe and considerate driver - do not pace the train.
- Be Aware of the Environment: While we strive to provide access to all guests, Big Boy is positioned in a working rail environment with uneven walking surfaces that may create difficulty for accessibility.

🚂 Best Viewing Spots:
- Railroad crossing on Clyde St. in Wampum
- Railroad crossing on Montgomery Ave (Rt. 18) in Mahoningtown
- Sections of Covert Rd. that run parallel to the tracks
- Railroad crossing on Brewster Rd.
- Railroad crossing on Rt. 551 (Erie St.) in Edinburg
- Railroad crossing on Churchhill Rd. (last PA viewing before OH)
