The North Country Trail Association Wampum Chapter values just, diverse, equitable, and inclusive trail experiences. We are committed to these principles for everyone’s enjoyment of the North Country National Scenic Trail. We strive to better include those who experience barriers to trails by prioritizing equitable solutions to ensure all can connect to and care for the Trail in a way that is mean
ingful for them. The North Country National Scenic Trail in Wampum Chapter territory starts at Alpha Pass at McConnell's Mill State Park in Portersville, PA and runs southwestward through the PA State Gamelands 148, through the Trail Town of Wampum, Enon Valley, the Trail Town of Darlington and through the State Gamelands 285. It then crosses the state border into Ohio, entering Beaver Creek State Forest lands and Sheepskin Hollow and Beaverkettle Properties. It passes through Beaver Creek State Park before hitting the road the rest of the way to Zoar, Ohio, passing many quaint towns along Rt. 30. The trail is a combination of 'in the woods' pathways and temporary, connecting road walks. We appreciate our landowners - both public and private - for hosting the trail on their property.
