SCARECROW-ISM

The mentality of ‘expecting others to do for us’ is the reason we have as a country been taken for a ride and are suffering. We can only change our situation by ‘doing for ourselves’. We must never expect our leaders to do for us, but ONLY to guide us. Hon. Kyagulanyi has called upon us to do for ourselves yet we are still expecting him to do for us. IF WE MUST LIBERATE OURSELVES. WE MUST DO FOR OURSELVES! If we don’t wake up, each of us, AND DO FOR OURSELVES, THERE WILL BE NO CHANGE: FORGET IT!

Foolishness of life is to expect to gain without investment, to reap without sowing. Yesterday, I watched a cellphone video of a People Power group (2 guys) in a village attempting to show sense to a woman corrupted by monetized politics – the effort of those guys was invaluable; they should be appointed ambassadors in the new government – those guys invested in change. We in the Diaspora have some of those guys in our villages; we have failed to support them, and yet expect change.

I don’t think history will be kind to the majority of Uganda Diaspora, who despite their obvious power choose to be scarecrows in this struggle. Members of the Diaspora, who donated to Hon. Kyagulanyi just ONCE and feel good about it, as if what they gave him will last the entire struggle: MULIMBA NNYO! Each member of the Uganda Diaspora is at least more powerful than 1000 people back home, and if they desire can influence all those people. Leaders in the Uganda Diaspora are struggling to convince members to commandeer ONLY 3 persons in your villages, whom you should ‘simply support’ as they engage in the struggle for change but you have still ignored the cry, yet you are busy loudly lamenting the state of affairs in your country on social media! You have ignored the cry, yet you wear more red than Eddy Mutwe! WE SHALL KNOW THEM BY THEIR ACTIONS NOT WORDS.

A society that engages in scarecrow practices to dislodge a well-grounded threat will never win. In fact, the threat will simply grow and dare you more. Social media rants are scarecrowism. These days we even have fake army commanders wearing fake army uniforms and carrying toy guns delivering messages on social media! We also have social media political science professors exposing their mediocrity everyday! But must you people be jokers all the time?
