Neighbors Who Care

Neighbors Who Care Thrift store Imagine for a moment that you are an elder--say in your 80's--and you have outlived your family and friends and neighbors.

You live only on social security or you are 'house poor." You live in the greater Waltham community and are isolated and lonely and have nowhere to turn. Someone tells you about Neighbors Who Care, who will pair you with the "right" volunteer who will walk this part of your journey with you... S/he will take you shopping, to a medical appointment, out for ice cream, write letters or hook you up

with a social service agency or what feels best for you and your volunteer companion. This is what Neighbors Who Care does--pair a compassionate volunteer with an isolated elder. Call us to volunteer (our volunteers love what they do)--or if you know someone who could use our service, please call 781-893-1860

And we do this at no charge for our underserved elders.

💛 A Message From Our Executive Director💛

After 10 wonderful years of connection, compassion, and community, Neighbors Who Care, Inc. will be closing its doors. It’s a bittersweet moment, but one filled with deep gratitude. Please take a moment to read a heartfelt letter from our Executive Director as she reflects on this journey and thanks you, our neighbors, volunteers, donors, and friends, for a decade of unwavering support and shared purpose. 💛

is Today, December 1st, one day to give to an organization or cause that you support. Here is your chance to join us in supporting Neighbors Who Care, founded in 2003. NWC matches volunteers one-on-one with elders who still live in their homes but do not have the income or family support necessary to assist with errands or provide companionship. We help our clients stay in their homes by supporting life-giving activities such as transportation to medical appointments, assistance with grocery shopping and friendship. Donations go towards all of our programs which help to empower elders to live joyfully with companionship and aid, all at no charge. For more information on NWC and to donate, please visit www.NeighborsWhoCare.net.
