PITCH AND PUTT PLANNED FOR 200 TRAPELO

A 9-hole, par 3 golf course has been proposed for the former Fernald property.

The course was one of a number of city projects discussed by Mayor Jeannette McCarthy during her annual Women in Business presentation for the Waltham Chamber [see link below].

The mayor said the proposed pitch and putt would be located at the site of the former Malone Park at Fernald, not far from new recreation amenities currently under construction.

The golf course proposal was discussed at the last meeting of the city’s conservation commission, but it’s still in the design/permitting phase, according to the Recreation Department Director Kim Hebert.

McCarthy also offered updates on a variety of affordable housing projects, recreation projects and building acquisitions currently in process, as well as the current status of the new police station project and the Waltham Public Library renovation.
