Lowcountry Community Action Agency is a private non-profit 501 C (3) organization governed by a fifteen member Board of Directors. The agency was established in 1974 to provide a vast number of comprehensive services geared toward self-sufficiency for low-income residents of Colleton and Hampton Counties of South Carolina. The programs and services are designed to assist low-income families in mee

ting their household short and long term needs. The services provided include: information and referrals, counseling and training, temporary shelter, educational opportunities, case management services, homeless prevention, weatherizing of homes and financial assistance to meet emergency obligations.

Fresh produce will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

Lowcountry CAA, Inc. joins communities across the nation in commemorating Juneteenth, a day that marks the end of slavery in the United States and celebrates freedom, resilience, and the enduring contributions of African Americans throughout our nation's history.

Juneteenth serves as a reminder of the progress made and the work that continues as we strive to build stronger, more equitable communities for all. At Lowcountry Community Action Agency, we remain committed to our mission of empowering individuals and families, reducing poverty, and creating opportunities that help strengthen the communities we serve.

In observance of Juneteenth, all LCAA offices will be closed on Friday, June 19, 2026. Normal business operations will resume on Monday, June 22, 2026, at 9:00 AM.

As we reflect on the significance of this day, let us honor the sacrifices of those who came before us and continue working together toward a future of hope, opportunity, and unity.
