This year, we would like to thank our Cheshire County Veterans by partnering with Pete's Stand to offer Thanksgiving turkeys to veterans free of charge!

Orders are due by November 4th and must be picked up in Walpole on November 24th or 25th.

On September 19th, 2026, sixty volunteers came together to help clean our Cheshire County riverways! Across Swanzey and Keene, we removed 1,490 pounds of trash. Thank you to all our partners and volunteers for being part of the regional Source to Sea event and making the 30th year a success!

Tomorrow is the registration deadline for the Cheshire County Conservation District's Annual Celebration! If you haven't gotten your tickets yet, here is your sign!

CCCD is proud to celebrate 81 years of Conservation in Cheshire County! Please join us for this year's Annual Celebration!

What to Expect:
- Enjoy live music by Milkhouse Heaters, local to Bellows Falls VT!
- Participate in our auction of locally donated items!
- Enjoy a catered dinner from CC&D's kitchen!
- Enjoy bartending services and libations from Deluxe Parties
- Celebrate our 2026 awardees: Cooperator of the Year - Monadnock Berries, Community Partner of the Year - Keene Public Library, and Educator of the Year - Carl Majewski!
- Connect with community, both old friends and new!
- Learn more about ways to support CCCD's conservation programs and help further our impact!

Individual tickets for the Annual Celebration are $38.00, which includes your meal, activities, and access to the auction.

Reserved table tickets for the Annual Celebration are $284.00 (save $20 when you reserve your table!), which includes meals, activities, and access to the auction for 8 people! Tables seat 8 people and are a wonderful option for organizations, or to invite friends and neighbors!

We had an incredible time at the recent Choosing & Using on a Small Woodlot Workshop! It was a wonderful event! Thank you so much to those who attended! Thank you so much to our host and his family for graciously allowing us access to his land for this workshop. Thank you to our workshop facilitators, Long View Forest, NH Timberland Association, and UNH Extension.

The Cheshire County Conservation District was honored to be selected for the 2026 Savings Bank of Walpole’s Earth Day campaign, which encourages customers to enroll in eStatements. For every customer who enrolled, Savings Bank of Walpole pledged $5 to be donated to CCCD.

We are delighted to share that we received a donation of $4,620.00!

We are so grateful for their support and for all the members of our community who switched to eStatements this year!

There is one week left to register for the 2026 Annual Conservation Commission Potluck on October 7th, 5:30pm-7:30pm at the Monadnock Conservancy in Keene NH!

Jeff Littleton from Moosewood Ecological will present findings from a 2025 assessment of turtle wetland-road crossings.

Learn how undersized culverts impact flooding and safe passage for turtles and other aquatic and semi-aquatic wildlife. The Moosewood study examined habitat connectivity throughout Cheshire County, assessing culverts and other stream-crossing infrastructure for their functionality for safe passage for turtles. The presentation will cover research discovery including culvert assessment for turtle crossing and flood risks. Improving culvert passage and reducing road access are key elements to restoring aquatic connectivity, reducing road mortality, and potentially reducing or eliminating flooding risks at wetland-road crossings.

Attendees are asked to bring a dish to share for the evening's potluck! NHACC and CCCD will also provide some locally sourced snacks.

This year, we are proud of our 2026 awardees not only for their hard work, but for their commitment to creating a more resilient community and a more sustainable world. The 2026 awardees are as follows: Oliver and Loise Levick of Monadnock Berries for the Cooperator of the Year Award, Carl Majewski of UNH Cooperative Extension for the Educator of the Year Award, and Marti Fiske and Amy Kraemer of the Keene Public Library for the Community Partner of the Year Award!
