🎧 We're listening more than ever. But are we really hearing each other?

Podcasts, audiobooks, endless streams of content—we spend hours listening every day. Yet the kind of listening that actually connects us to one another seems to be disappearing.

What if the secret to truly listening isn't having the right response, but having genuine curiosity about another person's experience?

In Sunday's sermon, we explored how deep listening can become a sacred practice—one that helps us bridge divides, deepen relationships, and recognize the humanity in one another.

This Sunday, we are thrilled to welcome Thea Hopkins, an Aquinnah Wampanoag singer-songwriter, as our special guest musician! Through Thea’s music and presence, we’ll continue our Under Our Skin series by exploring what radical welcome asks of us: not simply to make room for others, but to get close enough to listen—to another person’s story, experience, and truth.

Together, we’ll encounter Jesus and the Samaritan woman at the well (John 4:4–15, 27–30, 39–42), a story about crossing boundaries, being truly seen, and the transformation that becomes possible when we genuinely encounter one another.

Come for beautiful music, meaningful worship, and a Sunday that invites us to listen a little more deeply.

Did you know that the Walpole Community Food Pantry was actually founded at United Church in Walpole and spun off into its own beautifully robust community nonprofit decades ago? We love our continued support and relationship!
