Many thanks to everyone who took part in the inaugural North American Lobster Science Symposium!

Over two days, more than 65 researchers presented talks and posters showcasing cutting-edge work on lobster biology, ecology, and the coastal communities that rely on the number-one fishery in both the U.S. and Canada.

Co-hosted by the Lobster Institute, Maine Sea Grant, and the Canadian Lobster Research Network, the symposium highlighted the depth and breadth of collaborative lobster science across the region.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Dr. Amalia Harrington for an inspiring keynote address and to Dr. Damian Brady for launching the event with a dynamic plenary session.

We are excited to announce another voluntary trap disposal event at the Portland Fish Exchange on October 6th-7th. Stay tuned for more events in your area this fall – we hope to see some of you in Portland or in other areas of the coast ASAP (we have some really exciting partnerships lined up to share with you soon!).
Please register for the event here so we can make sure to have a time-slot ready for your unloading of gear for recycling, reuse and disposal: https://forms.gle/6fXQL5DzfbALeLYr8
