Ygnacio Valley Library We are the Ygnacio Valley Public Library. All are welcome. Popularly known as the Ygnacio Valley Library, its real name is the Thurman G. Casey Memorial Library.

Thurman Casey was a local business owner who bought 53 acres in Ygnacio Valley in 1940. His wife, Nellie Casey, donated the property for the Thurman Casey Library in 1969. The library was dedicated on September 13, 1975 and it opened to the public on September 15, 1975.

The Ygnacio Valley Library will close on Sept 9th for approximately 10 months. We're getting a new HVAC, roof, and electrical upgrades. During our closure, the book drop will be locked so please return materials to another Contra Costa County branch. If you have donations, please reach out to another branch as well.

Summer reading is coming to an end. "Plant a Seed, Read!" From June 1- August 1 complete tracking online with Beanstack or finish filling out your passport and visit your local library to turn in your passport or show your digital completion badge.
