UPDATE: Bundles is safe! Thank you Rocket Dog for stepping up with the offer from a caring person who ask to foster him. Thank you everyone for helping Bundles be seen and working so hard to save him at the last minute. He will have a happy life now because of everyone who cared for him and shared his post.

Meet Rico, an adorable cattle dog mix puppy with a playful spirit and a big zest for life! This handsome boy loves other dogs and has a blast in playgroups, making friends wherever he goes.

Rico is smart, active, and eager to learn. Like many cattle dog puppies, he thrives when he has exercise, enrichment, and people to interact with. He is up for general adoption or rescue.

Shelter life is especially difficult for energetic, intelligent puppies like Rico. Spending most of the day in a kennel is hard for a young cattle dog who wants to run, play and learn.

Meet Dante ( ) – A Sweet Soul Ready for His Happily Ever After

Dante is an affectionate 8-year-old brown tabby and black Domestic Mediumhair who has officially retired from street life and is ready to become someone's cherished companion.

This handsome gentleman has endured more than his fair share of hardships. When he arrived at the shelter, he was suffering from a large facial abscess, dental disease, and tested positive for FeLV/FIV. Despite everything he's been through, Dante's gentle and loving spirit has never wavered.

One of Dante's favorite things is spending time with people. He eagerly comes forward for attention, rubs against your legs, and happily flops over for pets and affection. He enjoys playful wand-toy sessions and has a charming personality that quickly wins hearts.

Dante does come with a couple of permanent medical companions, so he will need a family willing to invest in his ongoing care and well-being. In return, he offers something truly special—the gratitude, devotion, and companionship of a cat who knows what it means to be given a second chance.

After a difficult journey, Dante deserves a loving home where he can finally feel safe, comfortable, and adored. If you're looking for a loyal friend with a big heart and an even bigger capacity for love, Dante may be the perfect addition to your family.

I'm a 5 year old American Bulldog mix with a big smile, a happy heart, and a zest for life. At 57 pounds, I'm the perfect size for adventures, cuddles, and making you laugh every day.

My shelter friends describe me as happy-go-lucky, confident, playful guy. I love being around people and have done well meeting other dogs at the shelter. American Bulldogs are known for being loyal, affectionate, and full of enthusiasm, and I think I fit that description pretty well.

💔URGENT NOW! Barney Will Soon Be Out of Time! He Needs Rescue or Adoption ASAP to Save His Life!

"Why are the best dogs still waiting at the shelter for adoption or rescue?"

Honestly, I'd like to know too. At 8 years old and 47 pounds, Barney is one of those special dogs who makes friends wherever he goes. He's affectionate, easygoing, and a superstar in dog playgroups, where he plays with dogs of all ages. He is also used to help the puppies learn good play manners. They are learning from the best!

Barney has a few words he would like to share.

"Hi friends, I have been living at the shelter for quite some time now. I watch other dogs leave, and every time someone walks by my kennel, I hope maybe this will be my turn.

The volunteers tell me I'm a really good boy. They say I'm sweet, affectionate, and easy to love. I am also a rock star in playgroups. I even play with puppies and help show them how to be good dogs.

Even though I'm middle age, my heart is just as full of love to give. I don't need anything fancy. Just a soft bed, a kind hand, and someone who will look at me and say, "Barney, you're finally home." Until then, I'll keep waiting and hoping. I know my person is out there. I hope they find me before my time at the shelter runs out.

This handsome boy Pinocchio is looking for a home soon. Everyone who meets him falls for those soulful eyes and wrinkly forehead. He's tall, lean, playful, and incredibly friendly. He enjoys playgroups, loves being around people, and has such a gentle, happy energy. Despite being at the shelter, he continues to greet everyone with hope and kindness.

Adopt Frank! The Handsome Rottweiler Gentleman! 5 years old

"Hi everybody, my name is Frank and I'm about 5 years old. I'm a sweet Rottweiler mix that would love to find my forever home soon. I'm currently living behind shelter bars most of the day at Contra Costa Animal Services in Martinez.

I LOVE getting attention, hanging out with my humans, and soaking up all the love I can get. I've got those classic handsome Rottie looks with my beautiful black and tan markings and adorable face.

Now, I'll be honest, sometimes I bark when I see other dogs. But they're alert barks, the kind of my way saying, "Hey, I see you over there!" I take my neighborhood watch duties seriously. My Rottweiler breed is intelligent and protective by nature, so sometimes I like everyone to know what is going on.

I hope someone sees this post and will come adopt me soon or rescue me. I am available for both. I don't have much time left since I'm at the county shelter and they have to make room for new dogs coming in.

These boys were previously living outside on chains before being rescued by Hugs for Harry in Lafayette.

Meet Gandolf and Frodo, two adorable middle aged boys who came together and are hoping to be adopted together. They are sweet, friendly, and the perfect nice size dogs.

These two are deeply bonded and truly keep each other company. They would make a wonderful pair for someone looking for double the love.

So we save our asking, begging, pleading for times when it’s desperately needed. It’s now one of those times….

ROCKY the Great Dane we recently saved from the streets and then from the shelter , requires a gastropexy (stomach tacking) along with his neuter surgery. This is common place and should be done with all Great Danes to help in the prevention of torsion (Gastric Dilatation-Volvulus known as GDV) which is a life-threatening, emergency condition where a Great Dane's stomach fills with gas and twists, often fatal within hours if untreated.
This procedure on top of the neuter on a dog this size is costly, but very necessary, and we ALWAYS do what’s in the best interest of our dogs.
We are hoping to raise 2,000 dollars for ROCKY’S medical expenses.
