Another productive Thursday with the BNI Dream Team in Walnut Creek!

This week’s featured presenter was Al Varga of WSI - Varga Group, who explained how AI is changing the way customers find, compare and choose businesses. The key takeaway: a strong website still matters, but AI also evaluates reviews, business profiles, credible mentions, clear services and consistent information across the web. Businesses need to be easy for AI to cite and easy for people to trust.

We welcomed Jackie from Ingenius General Construction, which works on ADUs, remodels, new homes and landscaping. Thanks for joining us, Jackie!

Kaden from Feel Good Fitness shared an important networking reminder: the more specific we are about the people we help, the easier it is for others to recognize a good referral.

Our featured presenter was Miles Palacios of Lighthouse Lender. As a broker, he can explore programs from multiple lenders for self-employed and 1099 borrowers, people with significant assets but limited current income, construction projects, investment properties and other complicated situations. Being turned down by one lender doesn’t always mean there are no options.

We were also thrilled to welcome BNI Director Consultant Clifton Barnes, who shared helpful ideas about BNI’s online tools and AI features.

Another productive Thursday morning with the BNI Dream Team in Walnut Creek.

Chris from CC Home Services gave our featured presentation on the importance of preventative home maintenance. His message was simple: small problems become expensive emergencies when they’re ignored.

Members also shared firsthand examples of Chris’s reliability and craftsmanship. Anastasia explained how his honest recommendations and fair approach help her serve real-estate clients with confidence. Other members described successful home projects and the value of having trusted professionals who can work together.

That collaboration was a theme throughout the meeting. Chris highlighted projects completed alongside Mary from Best Floors, Inc. and Alex from Dynamic Tile, showing how strong referral relationships create a better experience for the homeowner.

The chapter closed out another term with strong participation in referrals, one-to-one meetings, education and collaborative projects.

Another strong morning with the BNI Dream Team in Walnut Creek!

We welcomed Joe Hancock, a local UPS Store owner, and Zubin Thomas, a Walnut Creek financial and insurance professional.

Our featured presenter was Maricela from Best Floors, Inc.. She explained why a flooring project depends on much more than what you see on top. Moisture, uneven subfloors, hidden damage, drying time, expansion gaps and proper preparation all affect how well a floor performs… and whether it lasts.

The strongest proof came from members who have worked with her. Kelsey shared how Best Floors handled extensive preparation after finding multiple old layers of flooring in a family rental. Anastasia has used Maricela’s team on five projects and praised their workmanship. Chris also described how Maricela’s husband responded the same day when a joint renovation project needed access beneath the floor. That’s what trusted referral partners look like in action!

Last week at BNI Dream Team Walnut Creek, we saw what referral networking looks like in action.

Our featured speaker, Alex Rodriguez of Dynamic Tile, shared the story of his family-owned business, three generations of tile-installation experience and several impressive before-and-after projects.

One of the best examples of Givers Gain® came from a recently completed home renovation in Martinez. Realtor Anastasia Stephanopoulos brought together several trusted Dream Team professionals, including Alex Rodriguez of Dynamic Tile. After seeing Alex and his father’s professionalism and quality workmanship firsthand, Anastasia shared a glowing testimonial and said she looks forward to giving them more business. That’s what happens when trusted relationships turn into real opportunities.

Another productive morning with the BNI Dream Team in Walnut Creek!

This week’s meeting included a reminder that a new month is a good opportunity to reset, set new goals, and continue learning ways to improve our businesses.

Our featured presenter, Kaden with Feel Good Fitness, changed things up by getting everyone out of their chairs for an interactive stretching session. He shared practical advice on flexibility, mobility, and the difference between dynamic stretching before exercise and static stretching for improving flexibility.

One of the biggest benefits of BNI is having a group of local professionals who actively learn about each other's businesses, make introductions, and look for opportunities to help each other grow!

We're currently looking to connect with more local professionals, including people in health and wellness, massage therapy, acupuncture, the trades, and legal services.

Another strong Thursday morning with the BNI Dream Team in Walnut Creek. It was great to see a full room of local professionals sharing ideas, making connections, and looking for ways to help one another grow.

One of the best lessons was the importance of getting back to the fundamentals: show up consistently, learn what other members do, build real relationships, and follow through. Accountability matters, but so does helping newer members succeed….. because when individual members grow, the entire group becomes stronger.

Members also shared practical advice for the local community:

• Keep your business name, phone number, hours, location and services consistent across your website, Google Business Profile, social media and online directories so customers…. and search engines…. can trust the information.

• If your fitness progress has reached a plateau, a focused change in training may help you begin moving forward again.

• Plan remodeling and flooring projects early, even if you are several months away from starting.

• End-of-summer solar-panel cleaning can help remove accumulated dust and pollen before the rainy season.

• Families of college athletes receiving NIL income should get qualified financial guidance early.

We also talked about professionals we would like to meet and refer, including CPAs and tax advisors, estate and probate attorneys, general contractors and tradespeople, acupuncturists, massage therapists, nutritionists, professional organizers and senior-care professionals.

At this week’s BNI Dream Team meeting, our featured speaker, Courtney Khashabi - State Farm Insurance Agent, shared several situations that may signal someone should review their auto insurance:

🔵 Their insurance rates increased

🔵 A teenager is beginning to drive

🔵 They haven’t reviewed their coverage in years

🔵 Their family, business or financial situation has changed

We also heard practical advice from our members about preparing homes for fall, planning remodeling projects early, building sustainable fitness habits, protecting business income and strengthening the trust signals on a company’s website.
