On Thursday, Oct. 1, the European Association for Transactional Analysis (EATA) and the International Transactional Analysis Association (ITAA) will host a virtual event examining the intersection of culture, power, and mental health practice.

As outlined in a new brief by The Script Newsroom, the session will be led by Victoria Baskerville, a Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analyst (TSTA) and founder of the Transactional Analysis (TA) East London Institute. Her presentation, titled "A decolonising journey from the radical roots of TA to intersectional TA," will guide clinicians through deconstructing psychological theory and addressing structural inequalities long embedded in the field.

The primary objective of the webinar is to prompt attendees to interrogate their own roles within broader systems of oppression and evaluate how personal biases shape therapeutic work.

"I am amazed by the promising talent and potential leadership in our community." Elaborating on this sentiment, a new article by Marina Rajan Joseph details the successful conclusion of the second online Training Endorsement Workshop (TEW) of 2026, hosted by the International Board of Certification (IBOC). Held July 24-26, the event gathered 16 participants and two translators to advance their global practice of Transactional Analysis (TA).

According to Joseph, the meticulous planning and commitment from the staff helped the group seamlessly navigate wide-ranging time zones and language barriers. The workshop featured diverse faculty and participants from Hungary, Russia, India, Ukraine, Guatemala, the United States of America (USA), Croatia, Spain and the United Kingdom (UK).

Concluding her reflections on the three-day event, the article’s author proudly notes that this talented batch is now ready to sign a Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analyst (TSTA) contract. The organization looks forward to the next TEW in November 2026, excited to welcome the newest generation of Certified Transactional Analysts (CTAs) as future teachers and supervisors.

"The July edition will be the last issue before we take a planned three-month pause, with publication resuming in November." With this announcement, the International Transactional Analysis Association (ITAA) is preparing for essential system upgrades to its longstanding newsletter, The Script.

Providing context for the brief hiatus, article author and ITAA President Marguerite Sacco explains that the organization will use this time to complete a number of important organizational and technology changes. By pausing now to properly strengthen underlying systems and processes, Sacco emphasizes that the publication will return supported by a more sustainable and robust foundation.

“If trauma is a fracture of the bond, care must also pass through the reconstruction of the bond with oneself, with the other, and with the earth.” This profound observation lies at the heart of a new therapeutic method that integrates the natural environment into trauma recovery. When individuals experience severe psychological fragmentation, reestablishing a biological connection with the outdoors can help reactivate their sense of vital exploration.

In an insightful new article by Cinzia Chiesa, the author introduces Homo Humus, an innovative area of activity launched by the Center of Psychology and Transactional Analysis (CPAT) in Milan. She explains how the CPAT program utilizes an ecocentric perspective to transform post-traumatic care by blending clinical practice, neuroscience and ecopsychology. By treating the natural world as a relational partner rather than a mere backdrop, care professionals can guide patients toward profound neurophysiological regulation.

Drawing inspiration from real-world examples of ecological and personal regeneration, the piece illustrates how environmental restoration mirrors human healing. Recognizing our shared roots with the earth offers a powerful threshold for transforming deep wounds and generating life after a crisis.
