Our online auction is LIVE, but only for a few more days. Each bid you make means that we have more of the funding we need to protect views like this in perpetuity, while you get to enjoy a piece of art, outdoor gear, or one of the many other goodies we have on offer this year.

Get your bids in before our auction closes on Monday at 5 PM!

If you aren't bidding this time, please consider making a donation to support our ambitious conservation work during this critical time.

Thank you, we really appreciate your support!

Today, we're officially opening two new trails to the public at Magee Preserve, significantly expanding the Sycamore Valley Open Space Preserve trail network!

The opening of these two new trails marks another big milestone for Save Mount Diablo. In the last few years, we've opened nearly 10 miles of public trails on and around Mount Diablo.

“We are pleased to announce the opening of our two new trails at Magee Preserve: the Art Bonwell Trail, named in honor of our co-founder; and the Do’-yum’-bel’-le Vista Trail, named in honor of the Miwok People and Mount Diablo,” said Ted Clement, Save Mount Diablo’s Executive Director.

We are grateful to our partners and the amazing volunteers who worked with us for years to make the opening of these new trails possible.

Kevin Perlacia is one of the amazing interns who joined our stewardship team this summer. "Having the opportunity to intern at Mount Diablo has made me see things I would have never been able to before. I got to see so many animals and places I have never been," says Kevin.

". . . And the things I learned didn’t just help me, they also helped my family. Because of what I told them, my family now wants to go outside in nature more often, and they even want to go to Mount Diablo State Park with me."

Thank you Kevin, for working hard to support Save Mount Diablo's stewardship work over the summer!

This month we are highlighting the experiences of our summer interns; go to our website to read the reflections that they wrote about their time with Save Mount Diablo. We'll post the link in the comments.

As the air gets hotter and the landscape dries up, our summer stewards are kicking off watering season. 💦

Our watering crew helps support the trees and plants in our restoration sites until their root systems can become better established.

Since we started our 10,000 Trees and Plants project in 2021, we have planted and protected over 5,000 native trees and plants! Our watering crew plays a vital role in this work by making sure these plants can thrive on our land.

Learn more about our recent stewardship projects through our latest stewardship update. We'll post the link in the comments below.
