Today is the kick off to Hereditary Breast & Ovarian Cancer Week!

WHAT IS HEREDITARY BREAST AND OVARIAN CANCER?

Hereditary breast and ovarian cancer is an inherited genetic condition. This means that cancer risk is passed from one generation to the next in a family.

The most well-known genes associated with the majority of hereditary breast and ovarian cancer families are BRCA1 and BRCA2. While we all have these genes, certain variations are associated with an increased risk of ovarian and breast cancer.
