Overview
Provide personalized tax preparation software support through inbound phone calls and video customer service and technical support, handling technical support questions via phone, with video capability. Help customers who are working on tax returns with both product and software inquiries, as well as with tax software questions and calculations. Focus on interactions regarding software navigation, plus assist customers with locating prior years’ returns and amendments. Accurately assess customer requests outside of preference scope of work and route to appropriate team for customer resolution. Works in a fast-paced, work at home, customer service environment.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:

At least 1 to 2 years’ experience in a high-volume customer service role (i.e. call center, retail or similar environment).
Having achieved a satisfactory level of technical skill or knowledge - Familiarity with operating systems, including Windows OS versions and/or Mac OS versions. Ability to install/uninstall applications. Ability to download products/applications using various browsers.
Experience using accounting or tax software in the past. Having prepared own taxes a plus.

Responsibilities:

As a Sales and Tech Support Representative you work with a supportive, service-oriented team. We take our job and our customers seriously and are looking for only the best consultants.

Here’s what is expected from all of our consultants:

Answer inbound calls from customers to assist with questions about products, services, answer basic programming questions, or troubleshoot issues
Educate customers about a product or service they currently have
Offer customers solutions through other products and services that would help to meet their needs using a service-to-sales approach
Use active listening and probing question skills to help troubleshoot and resolve customer technical issues
Verify customer account information and update necessary information, as needed
Access the company databases and provide instructions to customers to determine the root cause of their problem
Multi-task and interact with other departments to resolve customer needs, check status of work orders, and schedule appointments and service calls
Ensure customer needs are met with follow-up calls and communications
Handle multiple tasks simultaneously while creating an exceptional caller experience
Driven for success and comfortable working independently
Attend job-related training, refresher training, updates, and cross training
Participate in team meetings and individual team meetings
Read and stay up-to-date with reference materials, announcements, promotions, changes, specials, policies, and other company business

Training and Nesting Details

Training for this program is critical and 100% mandatory. Training consists of four hours of classroom instruction, and then four hours of self-paced learning each day. Following Training, you participate in Nesting where you take live calls in a supportive environment. Training and Nesting is scheduled for five days a week and lasts for six weeks.

There are three classes available in January:

Class 1: Training starts on Sunday, January 13, 2019. Class runs from 6:00pm ET – 10:00pm ET, Sunday – Thursday. Nesting is from February 5 – February 18 from 2:30pm – 11:00pm ET, Sunday – Thursday. You begin your production schedule on February 19.
Class 2: Training starts on Tuesday, January 22, 2019. Class runs from 6:00pm ET – 10:00pm ET, Tuesday – Saturday. Nesting is from February 14 – February 27 from 2:30pm – 11:00pm ET, Tuesday – Saturday. You begin your production schedule on February 28.
Class 3: Training starts on Tuesday, January 29, 2019. Class runs from 6:00pm ET – 10:00pm ET, Tuesday – Saturday. Nesting is from February 21 – March 6 from 2:30pm – 11:00pm ET, Tuesday – Saturday. You begin your production schedule on March 7.

Shift Windows of Availability

The Hours of Operation are typically 9:00am - 12:00am ET, Sunday through Saturday. Consultants are expected to be available to be scheduled to work during a daily schedule window of 2:00pm – 12:00am ET. Your daily start and stop times may vary within your schedule window. You will have two days off each week. Schedule selection happens during the interview phase. Sutherland makes every effort to provide production schedules two weeks in advance.

There are four shift options to choose from:

Shift 1: Your work days are Thursday – Monday. You will be off every Tuesday and Wednesday.
Shift 2: Your work days are Friday – Tuesday. You will be off every Wednesday and Thursday.
Shift 3: Your work days are Sunday – Friday. You will be off every Saturday, and then either Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday that week based on business need. **This shift is only available to those in the class beginning on Sunday, January 13.
Shift 4: Your work days are Monday – Saturday. You will be off every Sunday, and then either Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday that week based on business need. **This shift is only available to those in the classes beginning either Tuesday, January 22 or Tuesday, January 29.
