Meet Hailey!

Hailey is a student researcher from Millersville University who conducts her fieldwork here at the field station. Hailey’s research examines the effects of various living and nonliving factors on ribbed mussel abundance in the saltmarsh. Ribbed mussel abundance impacts the health and function of the saltmarsh, as it has a mutualistic relationship with smooth cordgrass. We love getting to join Hailey in the field! She makes fieldwork so fun and joyful!

Meet Rhi!

Rhi is a student researcher from Kutztown University who conducts her fieldwork here at the field station. Rhi’s research project investigates a mystery clay layer beneath the Greenbackville salt marsh. By analyzing her cores and ground penetrating radar (GPR) data, she will be able to hypothesize the extent of the clay layer and learn a little bit more about the state of the environment when the clay was deposited. It’s awesome to see Rhi in action vibracoring and getting other students excited about this work!
