As you well know, In recent times, Haiti has found itself at the heart of a deepening crisis, one that has gripped the nation in a vise of political turmoil and escalating violence. Amidst these challenging times, a glimmer of hope has emerged through the concerted efforts of the Caribbean Community (Caricom), which has stepped forward with a decisive call for the establishment of a Transitional Presidential Council.

This plea, directed to the stepping-down Haitian Prime Minister Ariel Henry, seeks to usher in a new era of stability and democratic governance in Haiti.

The Transitional Presidential Council, proposed to be a mosaic of representatives from various sectors and political affiliations, is envisioned as the beacon of hope that Haiti so desperately needs. Tasked with the monumental responsibilities of organizing free and fair elections, and spearheading a multinational mission to quell the rampant gang violence, the council stands as a testament to the collective aspiration for peace and restoration.

However, the path towards renewal is fraught with obstacles. Port-au-Prince, the heart of Haiti, remains in a state of paralysis. The closure of the capital’s airport, the cessation of bus services, and the shuttering of schools have created an isolating barrier, further exacerbating the difficulties faced by the Haitian people. The financial constraints that hamper the flow of aid from abroad only deepen the crisis, leaving many in dire need of basic necessities and medical care. With approximately 60% of hospitals forced to close their doors due to gang-related activities, and an acute shortage of medication and healthcare staff, the situation is indeed grim.

In these trying times, the resilience and spirit of the Haitian people shine as a beacon of hope. Organizations and individuals, both on the ground in Haiti and abroad, are tirelessly working to provide spiritual and humanitarian support to those affected. Yet, the magnitude of the crisis calls for a collective response from the global community.

We, at B.E.M. [Bethesda Evangelical Mission], extend our deepest sympathies to the suffering people of Haiti and urge our friends and partners to keep this beautiful nation in their prayers.

Happy Palm Sunday to you and your family !
"On this blessed Palm Sunday, let us remember the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, as crowds laid down palm branches before Him, heralding His kingship. As we reflect on this moment, let us also prepare our hearts for the journey of Holy Week, embracing the humility, love, and sacrifice of Christ. 'Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!' (Mark 11:9). May this Palm Sunday inspire us to follow in Jesus' footsteps, welcoming Him into every corner of our lives with faith and devotion.

The situation in Haiti continues to be highly fluid and deeply concerning, marked by political instability, economic hardship, and humanitarian challenges. Prime Minister Ariel Henry's inability to re-enter Haiti, as reported, underscores the severity of the political turmoil the country is facing.

The closure of the airport in Port-au-Prince exacerbates the situation, affecting not only political movements but also humanitarian aid and economic activities.

The food shortage and high prices are critical issues threatening the well-being of many Haitians. Since I’am unable to be there physically, we are grateful to RFA and some people for providing food and to Pastor Nidaud and his team on the field for the distribution of food in Chantal. This is a vital lifeline for communities affected by these crises. .

The situation is indeed dire, and the uncertainty adds to the distress of the Haitian people. While immediate humanitarian assistance is crucial, finding a long-term solution to the political, economic, and social crises plaguing Haiti is imperative.

In the long term, International support, along with a coherent and unified approach by Haitian leaders, is essential to navigate the country towards stability and recovery.

As this story develops, it is important for the international community and those concerned to stay informed, contribute to relief efforts if possible, and keep Haiti in their thoughts and prayers. Your continued support and attention to Haiti’s plight can make a difference in the lives of many.

Haiti Update: Urgent Help Needed!

After spending hours on the phone with my security staff and team on the ground, I have received a distressing message for the first time in my years of service in Haiti: "For your safety, please do not come." This speaks volumes about the current situation in Haiti and the danger that our team and the Haitian people are facing.

The country is in the midst of a deep political crisis, with violent gangs terrorizing the population with their warfare, sieges, and extortion. The Haitian National Police, along with corrupt politicians, have been unable to control these criminals.

Since July 2018, Haiti has been plagued by recurring political and civil unrest, exacerbating the already dire economic and humanitarian conditions. Unemployment and inflation rates are high, the national currency is unstable, and basic necessities like fuel and food are in short supply. Even flights from Port-au-Prince to other cities, like Cayes, are facing disruptions. As a result, all schools in the country are currently closed.

If you are able, please consider making a donation to help us provide much-needed assistance to the people on the ground. Above all, please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. I urge you to share this message with your friends and family.

If all goes well, I hope to return to Haiti in March or April. However, my decision to go will depend on the safety of the journey. As they say, "No planes, no go."

Thank you for your support and prayers.

Sincerely,

Pastor Lubin

Haiti update!
Dearest Haiti friends-
Since the assassination of Haiti’s last democratically elected president, (Jovenel Moise) the beautiful Caribbean nation has been experiencing an era of darkness on all fronts.

The brutal assassination of the president created a vacuum for revenge in the eyes of many armed groups for the former president. It has been reported that guns were being shipped in rice bags and other containers to many groups of gangs all over Haiti.

The 400 Marozo gang, who kidnapped the 17 missionaries, continue with their quest in kidnapping Haitians, rich and poor. The ransoms often requested by these groups are outrageous - from One hundred thousand dollars to over one million US dollars per victim.

The Haitian authorities seem to be powerless to do anything about the gangs in the Martissan area near Carrefour. As a result, road access between Part AU Prince and Les Cayes has become a life and death scenario. The gangs in that area stopped all busses, tractor trailers, and private vehicles requesting large ransom in order to get through.

The questions are: How much longer can the people survive this tension of insecurity, fear and terror? When will the government stand up and do something tangible for the people. Is there at least a plan to do something? I can go on and on and on…….

Personally I am fed up with excuses from the government and every time I have a opportunity, I raise my deepest concerns with the local government.

In the midst of these terrible times, there is however, a glimpse of good news. Our Mercy Hospital project has been moving at the fastest pace than ever before:
-All of our walls of the building are up and the roof is on.
-The last earthquake cracked some pipes underneath the building, but we are replacing them now.
-Our electricity outlets are installed,
-a new generator has been purchased,
-an additional partial of land has been purchased for housing medical professionals.

Our next phase of the project includes:
-Tiles for flooring,
-Digging a well,
-installing glass doors and windows
-Painting the building
-Acquiring medical equipment for the facility

We are trusting God through you and others to help us, so we are able to serve our loving but needy Haitian brothers and sisters.

Where do you see yourself to help in this God-size vision? With your help, let us create a movement. We need you more than ever before. Please feel free to share our story with both individuals as well as organizations interested in helping in this line of work. Join us, tell our story, and perhaps tell your personal Haitian story and let us bring a spirit of hope to a needy people.

Thanks in advance for playing your part.

Dear friends-
Abbi Beaucejour and I just returned from Les Cayes Haiti. it was another powerful experience to witness the continued progress of the Mercy Hospital, talk with the grateful workers as we anticipated the next steps for our dream hospital.

We visited the children of RFA in Chantal, chatted with the parents and spent some quality time with our dear children. RFA provided a wonderful party for the community as well as our children. Our house there now has a new coat of paint.

We once again met with the city officials, strategizing our partnership between local government and our non profit organization for the good of the people we both serve.

We visited the beautiful babies at the ICU of the local hospital, shared prayers as well as much needed formula for their survival.

Haïti still need your prayers for safety; a stable and responsable government as well as your financial support so we can continue with the task on hand.

Thank you for being with us every steps of the way….. going forward with the message of love, salvation, grace and endless possibilities.

Your eyes and ears on the field

Happy Passover to our wonderful Jewish friends and families. A Time to reflect on a marvelous heritage and strengthening relationships. While it rare occurs this is Good Friday for us in the Christian faith. A powerful reminder of the debts paid for us on the cross. Jesus paid the ultimate sacrifice the worse way imaginable. Love so powerful-

Happy Good Friday- and Happy Passover!

“But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us...raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.”
(Ephesians 2:4–7, h... ..

Often we set our focus on what God has done in the past — Yes, God has performed many amazing miracles throughout history, and it’s important that we give Him praise and glory. But at the same time, we also have to look forward to what God wants to do in our lives today. The 2019 pandemic couldn’t stop the works of God through BEM and others in Haiti. In this verse, Paul says that “in the ages to come,” God would do things that far supersede anything He’s ever done before. I believe that the to come” he’s talking about is this day and time we’re living in right now. God wants to outdo Himself in our generation!

Please magnify the Lord with me and let us exalt His Name together. Earlier this week the hospital site has seeing a vivid miracle, the delivery of a powerful 100 kilowatts generator that will provides power to supplement the unreliable street power as well as the soon to come solar energy for our much needed hospital.

Remember, God is a God of increase. Where you are today is not where you are supposed to stay. He has greater levels of His favor and blessing in store for you. Dare to dream big! Dare to keep a God-sized vision in front of you! Dare to take hold of every blessing the Lord has in store …. This is huge, but it’s just the beginning of greater work through us.

A special thanks to the Yaghsizian family for providing the funds for this outstanding achievement.

Hi friends
Due to the lack of gasoline in Haïti, this is unfortunately the way some beautiful children are going to school. We need to pray for a sudden deliverance for our beloved Haiti. The kinds of deliverance we are praying for shouldn’t just be from the bottom up, but rather upside down. This has got to stop one way or another. We need leaders who love their country enough to serve as an example of such of what is to be expected. When life is not livable you’re then in prison while free in your own country. Lord have MERCY! By the way the next time your children’s bus is late, instead of having a negative reaction, remember this picture.

THANK YOU!

The pictures of our Haitian brothers and sisters from the southern border on television lately are very sad to watch.

The Haitian people are known for their resilience especially after facing one tragedy after another. So, what do you do when everything around you seems to be turning against you Such as the weather, several deadly earthquakes, the assassination of their President, gangs, poverty and the list goes on.

This is not what I was expecting from this administration. Their treatments were inhuman and all I could say is God please have mercy.

Immediately after the 7.2 deadly earthquake, You helped us to go and served some of the beautiful people of the affected regions. We are deeply grateful.

As important and much appreciated as our visit was, we’ve discovered helping people in such a desperate situation truly requires not just a visit to help them for a couple of weeks, but rather a much needed plan for a long term result.

Contrary to what we were expecting, there were no big organizations on the ground; only a makeshift hospital by Samaritain Purse at the American University of Les Cayes and a few international Red Cross crew we met at the hotel. We know we need to implement a longer term plan. While we work on such a plan, allow us to thank you for your prayers, donations and kind words of encouragement.

You fed hundreds of families, the roof of our clinic is now done, many babies at the local hospital received much needed formulas. We are planning to make another visit in the affected area soon. Please know, together we are making a tremendous difference in the lives of those we serve.

Gratefully yours

PL and Abbi Beaucejour

Haïti update!

After five days of intense ministry we are getting ready to come back to our base. Today we shared a word of hope, faith and joy with the people of Les Cayes. We then proceeded to the hospital construction site to see how the people are constructing their own hospital all by hand.

Among many positives aspects of this trip is the fact that we employed local people that created a sense long lasting financial stability for many families.

This week we hired our Haiti medical director. Dr. Joel Daudin. He is a man with great integrity who loves and treat his people with respect. His work ethic is impeccable. We are so lucky to have him on board.

Later on this afternoon we visited the pediatric ward of the general hospital. It was another heartbreaking visit and we continue to see the need for better care. The very limited staff were doing the best they possibly can to assist the over crowded rooms of the hospital. We distributed formula and left more funds to provide more in our absence.

In all over 600 bags of rice were distributed, 15 cases of olive oil, cash for some job for others. The roof of our clinic is done. Next it will be plastering, tiling, two high performance generators for electricity, an artesian well for potable water and paint.

Meanwhile, Dr. Joel is working on training staff, also follow up on filing all necessary documents requested by the Haitian government.

It’s been lovely being here serving God’s people. Thank you for being a part of this amazing week with your prayers and donations, we are grateful.

Grace and Peace,

PL and Abbi Beaucejour
