We’re proud to see LeadingAge Connecticut & Rhode Island member Hattie Ide Chaffee Home featured in The Providence Journal!
The article highlights Hattie Ide Chaffee’s Arts Academy, the only arts academy of its kind in a Rhode Island nursing home. Residents participate in drama, poetry, dance, sound baths, music and other creative programs that bring new opportunities for connection and self-expression.
The story also highlights the Academy’s intergenerational work, including art projects that bring residents together with first graders and college students to create, collaborate and share their stories.
As CEO Barry B. Zeltzer, Ph.D. explains in the article, the vision behind the program goes beyond entertainment. It is about creating opportunities for residents to express themselves, connect with others, and maintain a sense of dignity and purpose.
It’s wonderful to see the meaningful work happening at Hattie Ide Chaffee Home recognized in The Providence Journal. Congratulations to the entire team!
