🐾 DONATION REQUEST — WALLINGFORD ANIMAL CONTROL 🐾

Wallingford Animal Control recently took in a large number of cats from a home and is currently in need of donations and supplies to help care for them.

Right now, they are especially in need of:

🐱 Non-clumping litter or pellet litter
🐱 Litter pans
🥣 Food and water dishes
🥫 Wet cat food
🍽️ Dry cat food

If you’re able to help, donations can be dropped off at:

Wallingford Animal Control
📍 5 Pent Road
Wallingford, CT 06492

Every donation, big or small, can make a difference for these cats. ❤️🐾

Please consider sharing this post so we can help spread the word and get these cats the supplies they need. Thank you!

We have created an Amazon Wishlist for them with donation being delivered right to their shelter!

We apologize it took so long to get these out there.

We would like to congratulate Cheryl Gagnon from Cromwell Animal Control on receiving this years ACO of the year award at our annual conference last week. Cheryl has been an ACO for 28years and has served her town proudly with dedication, compassion, and resilience. We are proud to work beside her.

We would like to congratulate Stephanie Maselli from Halfway Home Rescue Inc on receiving this years volunteer of the year award. Stephenie is the founder of HHR and started the rescue when she was 18. For the last 22 years she has helped numerous animals and is always willing to assist our ACOs when and where she can. Currently her rescue is home to over 200 animals, mostly cats but she also helps with dogs farm life and birds.

Thank you to both ACO Gagnon and Stephanie Maselli for all you do.

🌧️ As this weekend’s storm approaches, we’d like to remind everyone of a few important things to help keep your pets safe. 🐾

Today, while the weather is still nice, take a few minutes to check your fences for weak spots. With high winds, fences can be blown down and gates can be blown open. Make sure all gates are securely closed and locked.

⚡ If you lose power and have an invisible/electric fence, it may not be working. Please make sure your pets are wearing a secure collar with proper identification in case they escape.

Also, take a moment to make sure:

Your pet’s ID tags have current contact information.

Microchip information is up to date with your current phone number and address.

Fences and gates are secure.

You have a leash handy in case you need to take your dog outside.

When in doubt, leash up your dogs and go outside with them. Don’t rely on an invisible fence during a power outage or severe weather.

🐱 Bring your cats indoors tonight and keep them inside until the storm has safely passed.

A little preventative care today can save you a ton of heartache tomorrow. ❤️

Stay safe, stay prepared, and keep those furry family members safe! 🐾
