🇺🇸🎆🇭🇺 Wallingford Honors America 250! 🇭🇺🎆🇺🇸
As Town of Wallingford Government celebrates America's 250th birthday, we're proud to honor another important milestone—the rich history of the Hungarian community in our town.
Did you know that Hungarians began settling in Wallingford as early as 1891? The Hungarian Reformed Church or WMRE - Wallingfordi Magyar Református Egyház was established in 1908, and the Hungarian Community Club followed in 1918, opening its current home on Ward Street in 1924.
For 135 years, Hungarian Americans have helped shape the fabric of Wallingford—building businesses, raising families, preserving traditions, and enriching the cultural life of our community.
Join us on Sunday, June 21, as we celebrate our shared heritage with a special performance by our friend and longtime club musician, Zsolt, at the Wallingford Honors America 250 Celebration.
📍 Main Street Stage
🕒 3:00–4:00 PM
The weekend festivities will feature many exciting events, including the 🎼 Patriotic Pops Concert presented by the Wallingford Symphony Orchestra on the lawn in front of St. John Chapel at Choate Rosemary Hall.
Come celebrate Wallingford's past, present, and future with us as we honor 250 years of America and 135 years of Hungarian heritage in our community! 🎇🇺🇸🇭🇺🎇
