In Memoriam: David Camaione, PhD, FACSM

In April, NEACSM lost a beloved and deeply influential member of our chapter's community, Dr. David Camaione. Dr. Sean Walsh, NEACSM's Historian, shares how Dr. Camaione has made a lasting impact on our chapter and members

"In the late 1960s and 70s, Dr. Camaione joined other professionals in the field to form the Exercise Physiology Interest Group - a group that eventually evolved into the NEACSM. [...]

Although Dr. Camaione is no longer physically with us here, and there will be loss felt by many, including the NEACSM, we are fortunate to be able to carry on Dr. Camaione’s mantra of Making a Difference and look forward to the continued work that the Camaione Endowment sets out to do."

More information about Dr. Camaione's life and legacy can be found in his obituary (https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/virginia-beach-va/david-camaione-12819304), and the NEACSM History page (https://www.neacsm.org/history).
