As we keep watch on the possible Nor’easter forecast for this weekend, we’re sharing some helpful American Red Cross preparedness resources.

Attached are several tip sheets with simple reminders to help you think ahead before a storm hits. With some uncertainty still in the forecast, now’s a great time to review emergency plans, check your supplies, and stay updated as weather conditions change.

Making sure your family, pets, and home are ready can ease the burden on first responders and help you ride out the storm safely.

Today, Wallingford CERT had the chance to take part in Tweed New Haven Airport's full-scale emergency training exercise. CERT staff helped passengers off the plane, triaged the injured, assisted with family reunification, and conducted headcounts to support airline personnel.

Exercises like these strengthen our team, give us valuable practice, and help us build on our skills. They also allow us to work with various agencies across the state and become familiar with mutual aid requests.

If you’re interested in helping the Wallingford community during times of need, please send us an email at [email protected]. Keep an eye out for announcements about the upcoming CERT Basic Class in February 2027.
