Wallingford Family YMCA We're a community, not just a gym.

Founded in 1944, the Wallingford Family YMCA has spent over 75 years bringing the community together to nurture the potential of children & teens, improve health & well-being and foster a sense of social responsibility so everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow & thrive. Our mission is to strengthen the foundation of the community through programs, services and relationships that build a healthy spirit, mind & body. We have woven the story of how individuals and families learned to swim, prepared for school through early childcare programs, were safe and nurtured through before & after school programs, adopted healthy habits and rehabilitated from the discomfort of chronic disease.

🏊‍♂️🐬 MAKING WAVES & MAKING THE TOP 16! 🏆💜

Congratulations to Jack Angelastro, Amaya Carr, Amir Carr, Cooper Chance and Finley Roscoe - our WFYD Dolphins Swim Team athletes who have earned a spot in the Connecticut Swimming Top 16! 🎉👏

This incredible achievement is a testament to the hard work, dedication and countless hours these swimmers have put in both in and out of the pool. From early morning practices to competitive meets, their commitment and determination continue to make a splash!

We're so proud of these talented athletes for representing the Dolphins and the Wallingford Family YMCA among the best swimmers in Connecticut!💜🐬

🍂🎃 Fall fun is in full swing at our YMCA Learning Communities!

Our classrooms have been getting creative with fall-inspired crafts as our little learners get excited to watch the leaves change, explore the colors of the season and count down to Halloween! 👻🍁

From colorful leaves to spooky creations, these hands-on activities are a fun way for our children to celebrate the season while building creativity, fine motor skills and plenty of wonderful memories along the way.

We can’t wait to see what they create next! 🧡

Adam is a true team player who brings incredible energy to our pool deck! Whether it’s stepping in to cover shifts or supporting his teammates, Adam is always ready to help. His attentiveness to our swimmers and positive attitude inspire everyone around him. We’re grateful for his dependability and commitment—he truly embodies what it means to be part of the WFYD family. 🫶🫶

🎨☀️ Creativity looks even better in the sunshine!

Our ELMS kids took their imaginations outside and transformed the pavement into their very own chalk-art gallery! Sometimes all you need is a little chalk and plenty of room to create. 🖍️✨

At the Y, there’s always an opportunity to create, explore, play & have fun with friends—and the ELMS kids certainly know how to make their mark! Find out more about our before & after school programs at wallingfordymca.org/sage 💛
