WLW Forensics Walled Lake Western Forensics is great way to make new friends and develop great new public speaking

The Western Forensics team competes in Individual Events, a competitive activity which allows students to explore ideas and concepts such as prejudices, relationships, and world politics through literature, drama, and current events. Through interpretation or public address events, team members will compete against some of the brightest and most talented high school students in the state of Michig

Our marathon this past Saturday was a success!! Though the Lahti family won the family cup (yay!!) we are so proud of all of our forensicators for really bonding and becoming one big family. This is going to be an incredible season!

The Walled Lake Western states team brought their (class) A game to the 2021 MIFA State Tournament! Through two extensive days of competing and after many many hours of practicing and coaching, we’ve reached the end of our season. We couldn’t do it without our fantastic coaches, supportive parents, and amazing forensicators! Out of our 23 entries who advanced from regionals, 10 broke to semis, and 7 broke to finals at the state level! We had two state champions this year!

Our finalists were:
Manjari Bhat, Oratory 9/10: 1st place
Jackie Roach, Prose: 1st place
Grace Lahti, Broadcasting: 3rd place
Jonathan Holland, Extemp: 4th place
Sophia Burkmyre, Sales: 5th place
Julia Kassab, Oratory: 5th place
Emily Moore, Poetry: 6th place

Our semi Finalists were:
Sarah Palushi, Impromptu: 8th place

Not only did our team compete strongly individually, but as a whole, we placed 6th in class A schools across the state for the seventh year in a row! We are very proud of everyone!
