Walla Walla Public High Schools Scholarship Fund

Walla Walla Public High Schools Scholarship Fund Serving to advance opportunities for graduates of all Walla Walla Public High Schools through higher In our tenth year, we have raised over $200,000!

The WWPHSSF was started as a class gift by the Wa-Hi graduation class of 1962, as a 50th reunion project. It is increasingly apparent that the Walla Walla Public School system is graduating a large number of highly motivated and well-prepared students who have a great desire to continue their education beyond high school, but who are also lacking in the resources to do so. The original concept was

that if only 100 people out of each Wa-Hi graduating class were to give their graduation year, each year, in dollars and cents (i.e. 1986 = $19.86), each class could easily provide about $2,000.00 per year toward scholarships. Our goal is to support any graduate of the WW Public Schools, Lincoln or Wa-Hi, in their search for higher education, whether they choose a 4-year university, trade school, community college, etc. All funds go directly to the Blue Mountain Community Foundation where the funds are well managed and invested. Interest only is paid out to scholarship recipients. The endowed fund balance stays in place and continues to earn in order to benefit additional generations for years to come. The Blue Mountain Community Foundation does charge approximately 1.3 % of fund balance to screen applicants, select recipients, and to send a check to the recipients choice of higher learning, once the student is enrolled.
